Ch 19 The five boys had gotten together over tea and a meal and managed to finalize their plan against the Libra space station. All they needed to do now was locate it so Hiiro set out some feelers on the net to try and pinpoint its location while they prepared to attend the Kanmuri. ‘What’s going on?’ Trowa asked as he, Wufei, Hiiro and the King walked through the huge observation hall built into the side of the mountain. One side was open to the valley and gave a spectacular view of the raised stone table below where tradition dictated the entertainment for the night would be held. For centuries the dragons of this region had held the Kanmuri in this place. It was a time of celebration of new life and wonder. Aka was to be allowed to participate this time because he had just come into his one hundredth year. The dragons had already spent the day in celebration and were looking forward to the evening’s entertainment with great anticipation. The news of Quatre and Duo’s great beauty had traveled fast and drawn the creatures from every corner of the land in the hope that they might catch a glimpse of the beauteous boys. ‘Holy shit,’ Hiiro breathed as they came into view of the entire valley. ‘Look at them all. Are there always this many?’ Wufei snorted and plopped down in one of the high back stone chairs that had been carved out of the mountainside. ‘No,’ he replied. ‘They’ve come to see the dance.’ ‘Beware, my son,’ the King chuckled, taking his seat. ‘One might get the impression your covetous demeanor extends from possessor intent.’ ‘I am not jealous!’ the Chinese boy snapped, draping one leg over the arm of his chair and sinking down sulkily. Hiiro chuckled, leaning both hands on the arms of his chair as he leaned over to offer him a kiss. ‘Let them have their fun,’ he advised, pulling back to find his sulking lover a little less disturbed and smiling at him. ‘This is a bad idea,’ Wufei insisted just the same. Aka had accompanied them into the observation hall and stood beside them, anxiously looking down at the dais as Burakku climbed up on the stone table. The great black dragon made some strange noises that Hiiro perceived as the native Draconian tongue and the surrounding hordes responded by roaring and blowing fire into the night sky. ‘Where are Duo and Quatre?’ Hiiro asked, looking down at the stone table. He was a little concerned the boys might get stepped on or something. ‘He’s announcing them now,’ Wufei moaned, sinking down into his chair again. Trowa chose to join Hiiro and stand closer to the edge of the cliff so he could get a better look. The old, black dragon made some thunderous noise that drew a like response from Aka, causing them all to cover their ears as he launched his gargantuan body into the air and landed on the stone table next to Burakku. His feet had no sooner touched than the two rose on their hind legs and slammed into each other. Hiiro thought they were fighting for a moment before he realized it was more like rough play. ‘Bloody dragons,’ Wufei sighed. ‘What’s going on?’ Trowa asked, watching the two tumble off the dais into the parting crowd. ‘Burakku’s claimed responsibility for delivering the bishonen...’ ‘Bishonen?’ Hiiro chortled. ‘Sorry,’ he said, regaining his composure. ‘Anyhow,’ Wufei sighed ‘Aka’s not thrilled about it,’ he said, standing to join his friends. ‘KNOCK IT OFF!’ he shouted suddenly, causing the other two boys to jump slightly as his voice was amplified by the natural amphitheater they were seated in. The two dragons stilled and looked up at the cliff side a little guiltily then separated. Several smaller dragons Hiiro decided must be females lit the torches that lined the outer ring of the dais then backed away into the crowd and everything suddenly turned deathly quiet. Hiiro felt his skin tingle as a soft lilting music rose into the air. It carried with it a timelessness that filled him with joy. Many of the larger males were pushing in closer, clawing at each other irritably in their efforts to get a good look at the boys when they appeared. ‘Bloody dragons,’ Wufei scoffed softly, turning to go back to his chair. ‘Oh, my god,’ Hiiro whispered softly. ‘What?’ Wufei asked, turning quickly to rejoin them. ‘Hiiro?’ he breathed softly, squinting his eyes to get a better look. ‘Is he... he is... he’s wearing your blue cloak.’ ‘You ok?’ Trowa asked, laying his hand on the Japanese prince’s trembling arm. ‘He’s wearing my cloak,’ Hiiro repeated. ‘I thought he was your lover?’ the King asked his son. ‘He is... but,’ Wufei started. ‘Geez, Hiiro, he doesn’t wear blue,’ he said, moving closer to get a better look as Duo led Quatre into the center of the table. ‘I know,’ Hiiro replied a bit shakily. ‘Will you accept?’ the King asked from behind them. Hiiro stood quietly as he watched his lover stop in the center of the dais. Quatre smiled and waved up at them then reached over and straightened Hiiro’s cloak around Duo’s shoulders and said something to him that looked reassuring. Duo seemed reluctant to look up for some reason. ‘Duo,’ Hiiro said softly as his breath began to come in harder. ‘Hiiro?’ Trowa asked, warningly from behind him. ‘Duo!’ the prince shouted but the music was too loud for the braided boy to hear him. He ran toward the edge of the cliff, intent on climbing down to get to his lover but Trowa and Wufei grabbed him and held him back. ‘Wait for it!’ Wufei encouraged but Hiiro was still pulling them toward the edge. ‘DUO!’ he bellowed and finally the longhaired boy looked up and captured his gaze. Hiiro was instantly lost and fell to his knees helpless against those beautiful violet eyes. ‘Duo,’ he sighed softly as his lover looked up and smiled. ‘Ahh, damn, Fei just look at him.’ ‘I am,’ the Chinese boy chuckled. ‘You’re a damn lucky man,’ he told him. ‘There are added benefits to being claimed here, Hiiro,’ he informed him. ‘Draconian magic runs deep.’ ‘I’m assuming that’s a yes,’ the King chuckled as he rose. Slowly, down below, Duo took Quatre in his arms and began the dance. The King walked to the edge of the cliff and waved for one of the smaller females who flew up and clung to the side of the mountain while he spoke softly to her then dropped and flew away. They watched from their high vantage point as the boys monopolized the attention of the valley floor. Several small fights broke out as the huge creatures vied for better viewing spots, lighting the valley up with huge torrents of flame here and there as the excitement grew. Hiiro had begun to pace by the time the female dragon returned carrying an ancient looking horn around her neck. ‘I told you this was a bad idea,’ Wufei hissed as another fight broke out not ten yards from the dais, dusting the side of the stone table with fire and smoke as the two big males clawed at each other. ‘Put an end to it!’ he snapped at his father as the man relieved the female of the horn. Another fight broke out on the other side, sending a huge column of flame into the sky right over Duo and Quatre’s heads forcing them to duck down before the King could get the horn to his mouth and sound the call. The scene instantly stilled as the sound of the horn washed over the valley. Every head turned toward the side of the mountain where the King stood proudly displayed against the fire’s light. Burakku made his way back to the dais where Quatre and Duo were still panting for breath and laid his head down next to them. ‘Who’s banner do you reflect?’ the old beast asked Duo. Duo looked up to find Hiiro gazing down at him with the most beautiful expression on his face and smiled. ‘Hiiro.’ ‘Come, little one,’ the old dragon instructed Quatre, offering him his head as a means of transport. The blond boy smiled at his friend then kissed him gently before climbing onto the black’s neck behind the crest on his head and allowing himself to be flown up to the observation platform where Trowa helped him down and Hiiro was instructed to take his place. The old dragon hadn’t even lowered his head all the way to the dais when he returned before Hiiro jumped off, landing lightly on his feet then strolling over and snapping his lover up in a tight embrace. Hiiro held him tight as their hearts thundered together and the horde of creatures around them stamped their feet rhythmically causing the ground to tremble beneath their feet. ‘You’re sure?’ Duo asked, pulling back to look into Hiiro’s dark blue eyes. ‘Ahh, hell yeah,’ Hiiro breathed then kissed him deeply. Burakku roared something in his native tongue that set the rest of the dragons on their hind legs as they lit the sky on fire. When they came back down each and everyone one of their bright eyes were glowing as they crowded in. Hiiro released Duo’s lips and looked around curiously as the stone table began to shimmer beneath their feet. ‘What’s happening?’ he asked. ‘Burakku said if I claimed you here tonight the Draconian horde would bind us spiritually,’ Duo breathed nervously as a breeze began to swirl around them. ‘Bind us?’ Hiiro asked, pulling his lover closer. ‘I... I thought he was being metaphoric!’ Duo gasped as they began to lift into the air. ‘You want them to stop?’ Hiiro asked, looking into his eyes. Duo gazed at him a moment then smiled and shook his head. ‘No.’ ‘You look good in blue,’ the prince smiled then kissed his lips as they rose into the sky. One by one the dragons took flight and began to circle the pair as the shimmering light of the dais surrounded them in a column of light. They spun slowly as the great beasts swirled around them in a massive vortex of reptilian forms until they’d reached a height from which they could see both the ocean in the west and the island of Jadar in the east. Suddenly, Burakku buzzed right over top of them, roaring something in his strange tongue and Hiiro felt his heart thunder and his body convulse. Duo jerked in his arms and fell back, his mouth wide open and his eyes closed. ‘Duo!’ Hiiro gasped. Duo’s eyes opened slowly and Hiiro’s jaw dropped into that fish impression again because the amethyst orbs were glowing like the dragons’. ‘It’s ok,’ the braided boy soothed. ‘I… think its something like with Quatre. They’re using me to... amplify the power.’ ‘Are you all right?’ Hiiro asked not sure what to think about it all. ‘Do you love me?’ Duo asked. ‘Oh gods, yes,’ Hiiro replied. ‘Then I’m good,’ the braided boy smiled. ‘Kiss me,’ he added. ‘This shit’s getting hot.’ Hiiro grinned then took his mouth in a soul searing kiss. The moment they met, the energy the dragons had poured into Duo’s body exploded from him, saturating the two boys in an ethereal light that intensified for a moment then exploded out into the sky in a huge ring of light. Hiiro felt himself sinking into Duo’s presence; he could feel the flow of his blood. Every heartbeat, every breath was his own for a single moment in time. It was the most intense, most intimate moment he’d ever known. He felt it expand and retract inside him as his lips slowly parted from Duo’s, then it reached out and they both whispered, ‘Fei’. Down on the observation platform the energy lit up the stage. The moment it hit Wufei he convulsed and arched back as his eyes lit up. Trowa reached for him, concerned for his wellbeing, but Quatre snatched his hand away, grinning like a mad man and fairly vibrating with the power of the moment. ‘He’s been selected!’ the blond boy chittered excitedly, looking back up into the sky where the two other boys were slowly descending. Slowly the light in Wufei’s dark eyes faded, leaving him standing looking down on his two lovers in mild shock as he tried to catch his breath. His father stepped up behind him and laid a hand on his back as he motioned to one of the dragons to come. ‘Go,’ he told him as the beast offered him her head. ‘They’re waiting for you.’ Wufei looked down on the two boys looking up at him and smiled then climbed aboard the dragon’s head and rode it down to the table. Hiiro was kissing Duo when he arrived so he paused, unsure of what he was doing. He’d felt the binding permeate his body, but... his uncertainty was laid to rest when Duo’s hand reached out for him and Hiiro pulled him into the embrace. The moment he was wrapped up in their arms the sky exploded in hundreds of torrents of flame as the dragons roared their approval of the union and Duo kissed him silly. It was early morning before the five boys found themselves within the palace walls again. Duo had refused to let either Hiiro or Wufei out of his sight, dragging them off to their room together. Quatre had chuckled as he pulled the door shut on the threesome as they crawled into bed together, happily consummating the new depth of their union. ‘Does it make you happy?’ Trowa asked, walking with his lover back to their own room. ‘Mmm, yes,’ Quatre smiled and sighed softly, letting Trowa wrap him up under one arm as he shut their bedroom door. ‘They’re connected on a much deeper level now. They deserve to be happy.’ ‘Yes,’ Trowa agreed, kissing him softly. ‘However,’ he added, touching his lover’s cheek gently. ‘That isn’t what I asked.’ ‘They have what we have now,’ the blond said softly, burying his head in the tall boy’s chest. ‘Quatre,’ Trowa admonished. The blond boy sighed then looked back up at him. ‘Fine,’ he said sulkily. ‘I’m jealous. Happy?’ Trowa chuckled and kissed his hair. ‘He still loves you just the same,’ he reminded him. ‘I know,’ he replied. ‘I just... I guess I just want us to have it all. We could you know?’ ‘Once we’ve dealt with Libra you could always ask them,’ Trowa suggested. Quatre’s head snapped up ‘You really think so?’ he asked excitedly. ‘You think they’d want to?’ Trowa chuckled again, ‘I can’t see any reason why they wouldn’t,’ he reasoned, letting his hands slip down his back and under the waistband of his pants. ‘Mmm,’ Quatre sighed again, reaching up to kiss his tall lover’s lips lightly. ‘You’re a wonderful person,’ he smiled. ‘You make it easy,’ Trowa replied, pulling his hips tight against him. ‘I want you to be happy,’ he said, applying a small amount of pressure to the blond boy’s tail bone. ‘Ahh! Mmmm,’ Quatre hissed. ‘Keep that up I’ll be catatonic,’ he whispered as he eyes began to glaze over. Trowa smiled and replied, ‘What? This?’ as he did it again. ‘Ahh! Allah, yes,’ Quatre breathed, arching back in his arms. ‘More.’ ‘He’s right, you know?’ Trowa said, taking advantage of the boy’s exposed neck. ‘Hmm?’ the blond moaned then gasped as Trowa exploited another of the pleasure points on his lower spine. ‘You are incredible,’ he whispered, laying him back on the bed. ‘Don’t stop,’ Quatre hissed as he pulled him tighter into his arms. ** Duo jumped slightly at the loud thudding noise in their room that had woken him. Had he dreamed it? There was no one there when he looked around blearily to see what had made the sound. ‘Shit,’ Wufei groaned, snuggling down deeper into Hiiro’s neck. ‘What?’ the groggy prince of Old Earth rasped through a sleep encrusted throat as he turned over, only to have the Chinese boy bury his head in his chest as he hid under the covers. Just then another thud sounded and Duo’s face went moronically blank as he watched a rather large sack being pushed into the window by a bright green snout. ‘What do you think your doing?’ a low, gravely voice whispered outside. Someone yelped in surprise, then hissed, ‘I have as much right as you to court him!’ ‘Bloody dragons,’ Wufei sighed, digging down deeper into Hiiro’s amused arms. ‘Yo, boys!’ Duo called. A moment later the large green that had been reprimanded by Burakku when they landed and Aka poked their heads into the window. ‘Ahh, good morrow to you, young master Duo,’ the green smiled. ‘How like you my gifts?’ ‘Bribery!’ Aka sneered, pushing the beast’s great, green head out of the way so he could stick his own inside the room. ‘The fair one is much too intelligent to be swayed by such materialistic triviality,’ he purred, coming to loom over the sheets and smile down at the three stupefied boys. ‘Now, I on the other hand, can offer you pleasures your human lovers couldn’t possibly provide,’ he grinned, letting his tongue dart out and snake under the covers at the foot of the bed. Wufei yelped and came up out of the fold spitting fire at the beast. ‘Forgive me, Highness,’ Aka said demurely, backing away. ‘I was unaware of your presence.’ ‘Bullshit!’ the Chinese boy barked. ‘What’s in the bags?’ Duo asked offhandedly. Suddenly the greens head slipped in through another window and smiled with huge open eyes. ‘Gems!’ he grinned, quickly retrieving one of the sacks and bringing it over to the bed. ‘All your heart may desire,’ he promised out of the corner of his mouth as he jostled the bag so that the braided boy was suddenly showered with huge gem stones of every color and facet. ‘I heard you say you liked them,’ the green smiled as Duo’s eyes sparkled brighter than the stone shower. ‘Go away,’ Wufei grumbled, sinking back down into the sheets. ‘Now, Fei,’ Duo breathed, picking up one of the larger sapphires. ‘Let’s not be rude, huh?’ he said softly, holding the prefect gem up to the light. ‘You’re pleased?’ the green grinned, lowering his head to the floor. ‘I’m getting there,’ Duo replied, checking out a dark emerald. ‘Refuse them,’ Wufei mumbled from under the blankets where he’d hidden himself again. ‘Why?’ Duo breathed, lining up several diamonds of different sizes. ‘This lot could run the house forever!’ he grinned. ‘He wants to have sex with you,’ the Chinese boy said quite clearly from his hideaway. Duo dropped the stones. ‘What?’ he deadpanned, looking down right terrified as he stared uncertainly at the grinning, green giant. ‘Those are payment for your services,’ Wufei explained reemerging to cuddle up against Hiiro’s chuckling chest as Hiiro covered his mouth and tried not to be disrespectful. ‘But... but we’re not even the same species!’ Duo gasped. ‘A small obstacle, I assure you,’ the green grinned. ‘Masher!’ Aka sneered. ‘He is worth more than your trinkets! He is a creature of the heart. How dare you insult him with your wanton desires! Duo,’ he added in a delicate purr, ‘I would never insult you like this. My only desire is to please you. Come away with me and I’ll show you things no man could possibly offer.’ ‘Are you comin’ onto me?’ Duo asked sinking down into the sheets beside Wufei. ‘Whoa. Man, I don’t even think that’s physically possible! Is it?’ he asked, turning his frightened eyes to Wufei who was just about to bust up laughing with Hiiro. ‘Hey!’ he barked as Aka’s tongue found it’s way under the sheets again. ‘It is,’ the red assured him with a demonic smile. ‘What are you two doing here!’ Burakku’s voice boomed outside, causing Aka’s head to jump up and hit the ceiling before he could pull it free of the window. ‘Just saying good morning,’ the red said amiably, smiling at the fuming black dragon. ‘Shit,’ Wufei moaned. ‘And you?’ the old black growled at the green as he extracted his head from the room. ‘That’s none of your concern, old one,’ he sniffed, turning his nose up. Burakku stuck his head in the window and noted the gems all over the bed then saw the other bag of them and picked it up in his mouth, taking it back out the window with him and dropping it at the green’s feet. ‘Be gone!’ he commanded. ‘You worry the boy with your outrageous demands. He knows not our customs or ways. How could you try to force yourself on him like this?’ ‘They’re leaving today!’ the green countered. ‘There isn’t time for a proper courtship!’ ‘You’ve no business courting him in the first place Ao!’ Aka sneered. ‘I’ve as much right as you!’ the green growled back. ‘Enough!’ Burakku bellowed, waking the entire palace and half the surrounding forest life. ‘Take your dowry and go! He’s not interested! The prince has already laid claim to him.’ ‘Then why are you here, old one?’ Aka asked, raising his scaly brow at the black. ‘GET OUT!’ Wufei suddenly bellowed, making all three of them turn and look. ‘You’re all a bunch of slithering perverts! Take your shit and go away!’ ‘He’s lying with two boys’ and he calls us perverts?’ Ao grumbled. ‘Unnngg!’ the Chinese boy growled, diving back under the covers. Ao’s green head slithered back into the room only to be halted by Burakku’s sudden appearance in his path. ‘Where do you think you’re going?’ the old one growled with narrowed eyes. Ao looked affronted as he replied. ‘You ordered me to take my things and go,’ he said sarcastically. ‘You’ll leave these as an apology to Duo for your inappropriate behavior.’ Duo’s eyes lit up as he scooped the gems into a pile. Ao looked at him a moment, then smiled goofily. ‘He is pleased,’ he purred dreamily, letting his head sink to the floor again. Burakku turned to look, smiling somewhat stupidly himself before he regained his composure and shooed them off once and for all. ‘My apologies for the rude awakening,’ he offered once they were alone. ‘No prob,’ Duo replied. ‘Turned out to be a….pretty good morning,’ he grinned, holding another of the gems up to the light so Hiiro could look at it with him. ‘Thanks,’ he said off handedly. ‘I owe ya one.’ ‘Ah shit!’ Wufei groaned, sinking down into the sheets again as the old dragon’s grin just about split his skull. Duo’s eyes rounded on him slowly as he purred, ‘Then I should dearly love to collect,’ as his black tongue darted out and snaked around his snout before he moved closer to the bed and let it slip under the covers. ‘Ah!’ Duo barked, jumping clean over his lovers and sending gems flying everywhere. ‘Fei?’ he gasped as the old black gazed at him hungrily. ‘Oh, go away,’ the Chinese boy groaned. ‘He offered,’ Burakku sulked, backing off. ‘I did not!’ Duo barked in indignation as he hid behind Hiiro. ‘I don’t think it’s a good idea to owe them anything,’ Hiiro whispered knowingly. ‘Shut up or I’ll offer him you,’ the braided boy jibed. ‘That would be acceptable,’ the dragon grinned, moving closer again. ‘GO AWAY!’ Wufei growled again. ‘Here! Take the damn gems with you!’ ‘Hey wait a minute!’ Duo objected. ‘You want to polish his knob?’ the Chinese boy snapped. ‘Oh, you can’t be serious?’ the braided boy chuckled. ‘He’s dead serious,’ Wufei informed him. ‘How’s that even possible?’ Hiiro wondered out loud. ‘It’s possible!’ the Chinese boy snapped falling back into the pillow in exasperation. ‘Fei?’ Duo asked in quiet contemplation as he gazed at the grinning black. ‘What,’ the raven haired boy snapped. ‘Have you ever..?’ he let the question trail off. Wufei’s silence was answer enough. ‘Oh… my… god,’ Duo said, slapping his hand over his mouth. ‘Oh, shut up,’ Wufei growled, digging back under the covers again. Duo had no intention of letting that one go. ‘Who? Holy shit! When?’ ‘Screw that, I wanna know how!’ Hiiro said sitting up as he tried to dig the reluctant Chinese boy out from under the covers. A knock sounded on the door before he could extract him and Quatre stepped in. ‘Hiiro?’ he started but stopped when he saw the dragon’s head in the window. ‘Oh... good morning Burakku’ he smiled. The old dragon smiled sweetly and moved over closer to him. ‘Good morning, little one,’ he purred, letting his tongue slip out and wrap around the boy in a gentle hug which Quatre happily returned, running his hands along the rough surface of the fleshy appendage. ‘I’m sorry to interrupt,’ the blond boy said as the three boys in the bed stared at him slack-jawed. ‘We’ve received word on the whereabouts of Libra. There should be a communication from Zechs any time now. I thought you should know.’ ‘Umm,’ Hiiro began, still gaping like a fish at the slight blond boy as he leaned into the warmth of the dragon’s mouth. ‘Thanks.’ ‘Hmmm,’ Quatre sighed, letting the dragon taste him as Trowa slipped up behind him. The tall boy raised one brow as he looked at the three boys in the bed like, ‘what the hell is this?’ then he reached out and tapped the dragon on the tongue and extracted his lover from his tasteful embrace. Quatre sighed again and smiled at the grinning dragon as he retreated, looking anything but apologetic. ‘Zechs sent a preliminary message,’ Trowa informed them. ‘He’ll be on the vid in five minutes.’ ‘We’re on our way,’ Hiiro replied, reaching for his broach. He paused a moment before putting it on and smiled at Duo when he saw one of the amethysts from the pile had been pressed into the center of the intricate design. He smiled even bigger when he saw Duo’s had a matching sapphire and leaned over to kiss him before they put them on. Two minutes later found them all gathered around the vid comm, listening to Zech’s report. ‘It appears Libra is headed for Annon Shugi,’ he was saying. ‘Shit,’ Duo exclaimed as he sat on Hiiro’s knee. ‘They know we left the Gundam’s there. How much time?’ he asked. ‘Six hours at most,’ Zechs replied. ‘Damn it!’ Duo spat. ‘We’ll never make it back in time,’ Quatre said. ‘We’ll have to try,’ Hiiro interjected. ‘Where’s Relena?’ Zechs asked having not seen her. Five boys rolled their eyes thoughtfully. ‘Umm she’s ...visiting some friends,’ Duo finally replied. ‘But she’ll return with us. We can be in the sky in half an hour.’ Zechs nodded though he looked anything but pleased his sister wasn’t accounted for. ‘There’s little I can do alone but I’ll make sure Tallgeese is safely removed.’ They wasted little time retrieving Relena and heading for the ship. Burakku brought the girl on his back as they walked across the landing pad, letting her off near the lowered ramp. She looked like she’d been riding in the back of a pickup truck for the past day and a half. Her hair stuck out at odd angles and her face was pink and worn. Her clothes were rumpled and spotted with dirt and soot and her eyes bore a slight insanity that none of the boys really wanted to brave so Duo nudged Hiiro forward to address her. ‘Did you... enjoy your visit?’ Hiiro asked gently. ‘Don’t!’ the girl snapped, drawing herself up to her full height and brushing her straggly hair back from her face before she turned and walked with as much dignity as one can when you wobble like that into the ship. Hiiro turned an accusing eye on Burakku who grinned at him and licked his lips.
