"Carbon Copy"

Ch 2

By morning promise had turned to blatant need. Duo’s presence by his side had sparked some of the most sinfull dreams he’d ever had one fantasy after another running through his mind, teasing his senses into full bloom as the vision of his beautiful Serf moved gently atop his passion damp body…. He woke with a gasp to the harsh reality of the phone ringing loudly, his mind and body still trapped in the heated moment of rapture even though he found himself quite alone in his bed. The sound of the shower made it clear where his wayward companion had gotten to as the phone rang on and on. Finally, he managed to pull his head together enough to remember when the phone rings it’s usually polite to answer it.

‘Yeah,’ he grunted through the tightness in his throat, it was almost as if he could still taste the sweet flavor of the longhaired boys kiss.

‘Hiiro? Are you ok? You didn’t answer. How’s Duo? How did things go?’

Oh yeah,.. Quatre’s wake up call. It wasn’t like he needed it, he had an impossibly accurate internal clock but the blond boy seemed to live to fuss over him. He didn’t even fuss over his own lover this much but this was how it had always been so Hiiro was used to it.

‘Mm... fine… what time is it?’

‘Hiiro?’

Ok, stupid question. Seven a.m. on the nose exactly as expected. Well, he wasn’t about to tell his friend why he was befuddled. ‘Everything’s fine,’ he assured him.

‘Are you two getting settled in?’

‘Hm?’ What was he talking about when Duo was in the bathroom… naked...

‘Hiiro!?’

‘He’s fine,’ the Japanese boy said more boldly as he forced his mind back to reality and sat up. The bed sure seemed a lot warmer and cozier, kind of made him wish he could snuggle back in for awhile. ‘Looks like he’s already got some knowledge of photography,’ he added more to appease Quatre’s incessant curiosity than anything else.

‘Really? That’s wonderful,’ Quatre gushed, mission accomplished. ‘Have you managed to get him some clothes yet? I think he’s a bit more narrow than you isn’t he?’

‘We’re going to pick something up in Brazil...clunk*rustle*clatter…’

‘Hiiro!?…Hiiro!?’

Duo smiled and continued to rub the towel against the back of his head to help dry the remaining water from his thick mass of now loose chestnut hair. Hiiro’s throat had seized up instantly when he stepped out of the bathroom, a small towel wrapped loosely around his thin hips, the stark white of the terry almost glowing against his tanned skin, a bit of hip bone showing that led into a most gloriously nude torso. Long legs still dripping with glistening, crystal droplets and all that deliciously luscious hair free of its confines dangling down his back, over shoulders that just made the blue eyed boy ach to kiss and nip them. Dark tendrils lapping around shapely thighs that moved with a poetic grace that sent chills right down his spine and those eyes. What did he see deep down in their lucent depths? Was he... amused?

‘HIIRO!?’

‘Y…yes.. sorry.’

‘Are you alright?!’

‘Fine.’

‘What going on?’

‘Nothing... the phone just slipped.’

‘Where’s Duo?’

‘He’s.’ standing in front of the mirror half naked braiding his damp hair… damn… ‘...getting ready to leave.’

‘Hiiro, don’t tell me you’ve already…’

‘NO!’

‘I really didn’t think you’d be interested in that sort of...’

‘I’m…’ he was about to say `not` but Duo chose that moment to drop the towel and reach for his pants so it came out as ‘…wasn’t… listen I need to go…’

‘Wait... have you read the owners manual yet?... Hiiro? You need to be careful... it’s very easy to …’

‘Yeah... I’ll see you in a few days.’

‘Hiiro!?’ click

He sat for a long moment watching the beautiful boy finish dressing. It was obvious Duo knew his eyes were on him and he preformed admirably going so far as to glance back at Hiiro now and then with that little amused expression in his eyes until he was fully clothed and still the Japanese boy could think of nothing else but how it might feel to hold this amazing creature in his arms.

‘Duo?’

‘Yes?’ God damn, that word sounded good on his lips.

‘Would you…’ BEEP! BEEP! SHIT! ‘…take the bags down,’ he sighed. Damn it! The taxi was already there and he was still in his pajamas!

‘Of course,’ Duo smiled but before he went to pick up the bags he made a little pit stop in front of Hiiro where he decided to try and tame a stay bit of bang that was roguishly invading the Japanese boy’s line of sight. The door closed behind him before Hiiro finally snapped back to reality and scrambled for his clothes.

The trip to the airport was... interesting. Hiiro found himself laughing at the most idiotic things. Like Duo’s need to make faces at the children on the corner by the elementary school they passed. The little boy that was last in line accommodated him by returning the favor before they smiled at each other and the taxi pulled away. He left a gaggle of teenage girls a giggling, swooning puddle of goo by flashing them a sly smile and then blowing them a kiss as well as set off an older mans dog by mewing as they turned a corner. Hiiro had been too busy making adjustments to his itinerary and booking the extra tickets they’d need to accommodate the added traveler to really engage him in conversation. Apparently, a bored Duo led from one delightful disturbance to another. Each time Hiiro would chuckle at his actions he would turn a happy little smile on him. It was nothing like he’d ever experienced before.

Many times he’d attempted to work with others in his field. Men and women alike, however, he couldn’t recall ever once feeling as relaxed and content as he did in Duo’s company. Honestly, he had to blame himself, he was terribly unsociable and he knew it. Quatre reminded him of it on a daily basis how his solemn attitude and standoffish behavior held the world at bay. The blond boy had even tried to set him up with women from time to time in his effort to draw him into the world of the living but somehow, he just never could quite understand what he was doing wrong. If someone irritates you why pretend they don’t and encourage further interaction? Duo didn’t irritate him though. Was it because of his non-human status? Possibly. Maybe Hiiro just reacted differently to him due to the fact that he wasn’t actually a human being but if that were the case, why did he have this insatiable urge to reach out and touch him?

The trip through the airport went remarkably smooth. The thought of shopping in the crowded terminal wasn’t one that Hiiro was looking forward to but once again Duo’s presence proved that life had changed dramatically since the day before. Why did everyone smile so happily at his new companion? Was it because he wore such a beautifully bright grin himself? He realized the corners of his own mouth were turned up quiet firmly as well as they entered the small shop full of souvenirs and smartly lettered apparel.

‘Hey,’ the longhaired boy smiled picking up a skimpy looking girls top with tons of frills and large pink polk-a-dots ‘What’dya think? To L.A.?’ he asked holding it up in front of his black clad chest and making a face like a prude. The clerk laughed out loud as Hiiro rolled his eyes and chuckled. ‘Well, you pick then,’ Duo told him sounding for all the world like a scolding wife. Hiiro tossed him a pair of khaki, knee length shorts and a t-shirt that read ‘I did it in Dallies,’ which was the name of the city they were leaving. ‘I think not,’ Duo said eyeing the tacky green and yellow stripped shirt and making Hiiro laugh again. ‘Hmm,’ he mused looking the rack over. A moment later he smiled and took a couple of pieces he fancied into the dressing room with him.

‘Are you just arriving?’ the clerk, a young lady with short, reddish-brown hair and a nice smile asked.

‘Departing for Brazil,’ Hiiro replied.

‘Oh,’ she sighed leaning comfortably over the counter. ‘Too bad,’ she smiled raking her eyes over the Japanese boy’s impressively firm body.

Hm. Had he just been come onto? Oddly enough he didn’t feel affronted by the idea either. He wasn’t interested but he wasn’t irritated either. It was a bit strange since usually he… oh... my... god.

‘I think I need a size smaller but this feels pretty comofor... Hiiro? What? You don’t like it?’ Duo asked bending to check how his round, firm, little ass filled out the back of the black, stone washed jeans he was wearing. The ones that hung right down on his hips exposing his savory little belly button. The shirt was just as bad, loose fitting with slits in the sleeves that showed a tempting patch of pale flesh all the way down his arm, the midriff ending just above the waist line of the pants, the color a deep blue that almost matched Hiiro’s cobalt eyes.

‘Wow!’ the clerk breathed standing back up with wide eyes as Hiiro’s throat closed up too tight for a verbal response.

Duo took his silence as disapproval, his expression falling a tad as he reached for the tacky ‘I did it in Dallies’ shirt and said ‘Well… I suppose if you’d prefer…’

‘No!’ Hiiro barked finding his voice. ‘It’s fine… If you’re sure your comfortable?’ he added eyeing the shorts again. They did look more suited to where they were going.

‘They’re a bit baggy in the crotch,’ Duo replied shaking the crotch of the pants about between his legs.

‘They’ll do,’ Hiiro gasped snapping his hand up and pushing him towards the check out where the clerk was grinning so widely she looked like her head might split in half.

‘Shop here often?’ Duo asked making her giggle like a fool as she checked them out.

They left the little shop just in time to make it on the plane leaving a very starry eyed, flushed clerk in their wake. Hiiro stuffed Duo’s old clothes into his carry on and stowed it before sitting down in his window seat with Duo on the aisle shielding him from the other passengers. He always booked two seats so that he wouldn’t have to be too close to the other travelers but this time, he had the added protection of having Duo by his side. He had thought to guard himself with his actions but when all was said and done, he knew three of the people next to them by their first names and had learned how to play thumbs poker from the ten year old boy in front of him. The amazing part was that he had actually enjoyed the flight. Was this what Quatre kept telling him he was missing? Had it really only taken his meeting Duo to bring this about? He was really starting to wonder just what the answer was by the time they touched down in Brazil.

For the first time in his life he actually regretted it when they touched down. They had a short layover in which Duo introduced him to a double café latté, something he would never have stopped to sample on his own, before their private plain was ready for the short flight into the southern jungle where Hiiro was to document the night blooming Sacadia Flower for Earth Walker Magazine.

‘Where’s the pilot?’ Duo asked slinking into one of the four seats in the cabin.

‘I’ll be taking us in,’ he replied stowing the bags.

‘You’re a pilot?’ Duo asked grinning as he captured his master between his long legs by placing one on either side of him, his feet propped up on the seats behind him. It took a long moment for Hiiro to grasp what he’d asked before the nodded absently trying very hard not to look directly at his crotch. He wondered what he might look like down there having seen the smooth, firm flesh of his perfectly shaped ass that morning when he’d dropped his towel. Would the hair be warm chestnut curls? What would be the specific shape... the scent… what would he feel like… taste like…

‘Would you like me to?’

‘Huh?’

‘Pilot,’ Duo grinned.

‘What?’ Hiiro asked again turning to hide the sudden swelling in his pants.

‘I’m a pilot too,’ Duo said in a tone that indicated he’s said it more than once as he moved to the co-pilots seat.

‘Really?’ Hiiro mused only half hearing him, his mind still playing over the curiosities about Duo’s lower extremities as he set up the preflight check list.

‘Mm hm,’ Duo hummed casually resetting two of the adjustments he’d made incorrectly demonstrating his diverse skills. Once again Hiiro wondered just what this models configuration was.

‘Alright,’ he agreed wanting to know more about the Serf’s capabilities. Duo’s bright smile just about stalled his heart. He found himself very relaxed by the time they lifted off as once again Duo showed his superior skill in handling the small aircraft. It was only an hour and a half flight but already he was seeing things that he’d never noticed before. The color of the sky beyond the dials and flashing lights of the dashboard, the lush canopy below the horizon, white clouds that seemed to go on forever and a flock of birds circling below. How had he missed so much of the world up until now? It occurred to him that if he’d been alone he would have probably been obsessing over the assignment and if he’d been with other people he’d have been worrying over the best way to avoid them but with Duo, all he had to do was kick back and let him do his job. It was a very liberating feeling that he had no doubt he could get very used to very quickly.

‘Look,’ Duo said after a short time pointing out a tree full of white birds below. Hiiro just had time to catch the grin on his face before he dove straight down, the sound and presence of the aircraft drawing the birds from the branches leaving a living trail of fluttering life in their wake.

‘Ever been to the sun?’ the longhaired boy asked even before he could fully recuperate from the sudden dive aiming them full throttle towards the sky and the brilliantly shinning sun.

‘Duo?’ Hiiro ground out skeptically knowing that if he kept this up the plane would stall and they’d end up in a nose dive but just before that could happen the longhaired boy cut the engines.

‘Hold onto your ass, Icherus,’ he grinned at Hiiro’s wide eyed expression.

He wasn’t really frightened, he knew he could pull them out of this even if Duo couldn’t but it seemed like a damn dangerous way to get a laugh. He had no time to contemplate it further, however as he found himself in a full nose dive headed straight for the cold hard ground as Duo let out a war cry by his side. As expected Duo brought them out of it kicking the engines back on at the last minute and skimming the tree tops leaving them both damp with sweat and feeling very much like they’d just slapped the grim reaper up side the head and gotten away with it.

‘Christ!’ Hiiro exclaimed with a huge gin on his face and an enormous amount of adrenaline in his veins. ‘You’re friggin insane!’ he laughed shaking his head to clear it of some of the odd vibrations that were still bouncing around his brain.

‘What’s the point in living if your not alive?’ the longhaired boy smiled looking even more relaxed than he had before their deadly descent.

Hiiro could not have stopped the turmoil of emotions rising in his chest for all the tea in China. ‘You really are...’ he said looking for the right word as he gazed over at the brightly shining Serf beside him, ‘… amazing,’ was the best he could do though he really felt it was sorely lacking.

‘You make me want to be,’ Duo replied matter-of -factly then before Hiiro had a moment to absorb that little tid bit he was looking out the window again. ‘Is that the landing strip?’ he asked.

What?! They were there already? They’d only just taken off! But… ‘Yes… come in from the west,’ he told him bewildered by the absence of time when he was in the longhaired boy’s company.

The little landing strip was actually no more than a thin ribbon of rocks that had been dumped in a straight enough line on the hillside for the plain to set down on but it proved to be nothing that Duo couldn’t handle. He put them down smoothly and taxied to a halt. There were no buildings.

‘Just us?’ Duo asked looking around at the barren landing site.

‘This is as far as we can go by plane,’ Hiiro informed him loading up with their luggage before they exited. ‘The trees are too thick for a landing strip any further in,’ he explained leading Duo into said trees where they did find a small shed that housed an assortment of emergency supplies and rations as well as a small two way radio that looked like it’d been used during the first world war. It made a nice home for the spider that had taken up residence in its interior.

‘I’m feeling a liiiittle… over dressed,’ Duo exclaimed looking himself over.

‘I’m sorry we didn’t get to stop and get you some more clothes,’ Hiiro apologized.

‘It’s alright,’ Duo smiled. ‘Two sets are more than enough out here. I can wash them out if I get too stinky,’ he chuckled leaning back against the little shelf, his elbows propped up beside him to make room for Hiiro so slip by. Hiiro couldn’t stop his eyes from wandering the boy’s slight body, the shirt having pulled up showing off that sultry navel. His mind wandered down below the waist band of those jeans again as his nose passed nearby making him forget momentarily what it was he’d bent down there to get. Oh yeah... log book. ‘Its beautiful here,’ Duo smiled softly as he passed back by stalling his motion as he gazed into his eyes. ‘Don’t you think?’ he asked as Hiiro’s world slowly narrowed to one brilliantly resplendent spot in the universe that was centered smack dab around Duo’s beautiful face.

‘Yes,’ the Japanese boy replied. He’d never seen anything more lovely in his entire life. ‘Duo?’ he prompted through a steadily drying throat.

‘Yes?’ the boy answered softly, his expression melting into something between longing and amusement.

‘Would you…’ gods how did he put it?

‘Yes.’ Was that a question or an answer?

‘May I…?’

‘Please.’

Ok... that was clearly an invitation but what if he couldn’t stop? He still wasn’t so sure how he felt about having intimate relations with a non-human. It was akin to poinking his toaster right? Ok... maybe not but he didn’t like the idea of Duo making love with him just because it was his duty. Still, he was right there and he sure seemed to be interested, he was defiantly willing. The temptation proved too much for the blue eyed boy and he ended up leaning in to taste the sweetness of his kiss.

It felt very odd kissing anyone more or less another boy, for the first time Hiiro felt himself wanting to pull away from him and the closer he got the more the feeling pulsated in his chest. He couldn’t do this, it was wrong on so many levels. He wasn’t human, he wasn’t a girl, he had no free will… he smelled sooo fucking good….

‘Mmmmmm,’ Duo groaned as he closed the remaining space between them, Hiiro’s bodies needs overcoming his minds reservations as he found himself pressing into him, tasting, lapping at his moist, willing mouth as the log book hit the dirt floor and his hands found a new home slithering around the trembling boy’s body. Did Serf’s tremble? Were they programmed for such details? No... not programmed… they weren’t machines... but they weren’t human either… what was he thinking? Shit, he was so soft beneath the jeans, smooth and firm and oh so damned... responsive….

‘Damn,’ Hiiro groaned forcing himself to back off a little when he realized he’d all but stripped his lower half and didn’t even know it but Duo appeared to have no will to pause. ‘Wait,’ the Japanese boy ground out taking his wandering hands in his own to still them as he pushed away, something was seriously wrong with this. It was too hot, too desperate, too damn mind blowing to contemplate.

‘What’s wrong?’ Duo asked breathily still nipping at his jaw.

‘We should get going,’ Hiiro told him moving away. He couldn’t bring himself to look into Duo’s confused eyes; he knew if he saw any pain there he’d never be able to forgive himself.

‘Did I... displease you?’ Duo asked, the sound of his voice breaking slightly sending a sharp pain through Hiiro’s chest that made him turn to look at him anyway.

‘No... of course not,’ he told him dropping the bags again. ‘You’re perfect,’ he praised smiling affectionately. ‘It’s just… I’m sorry… I should have told you before but... I have some difficulty... socializing,’ he confessed. ‘We should just take it slow for now alright?’ he said trying his best to make him understand but he didn’t truly understand it himself. He knew he wasn’t telling the whole truth. Honestly, he was scared shitless. This was not another human it was a creation meant to serve him and his needs whatever they may be. It wasn’t the truth and he already wished with all his heart that it could be anything... anything but a lie. He could see that Duo wasn’t convinced but he nodded his acceptance of the explanation and followed him obediently out into the dense jungle.
