AN: This was written some years ago in response to a fic I read. I so enjoyed the character dynamic’s I couldn’t resist borrowing the idea and writing a fic of my own using a variation of the character profiles. The original fic was Blue Bottled Belly Dancers... by clarysage ^_^ I liked it so much I wanted more so I wrote this but that was uh... years before I ever thought to post anything. I don't really remember how closely mine follows the original but I hope it's entertaining. ^_^ Thanks everyone!

"Bottled Blue "

Ch 5

The day dawned bright and clear. He lay awake in the nest of pillows that had become his Heaven on Earth grinning his secret grin because he knew soon his lover would return to his side. Had he really been there for almost three months? It seemed like only yesterday he’d found himself dropped in what he thought was the worst circumstances of his life but now, looking back over the past few weeks he knew he’d never known a happier time. Every day was filled with laugher and every night Hiiro lavished him with pleasures beyond his wildest dreams. He sank his nose into the pillows breathing deeply of the scent they created together and smiled as he sighed deeply in contentment. Aman Atulh, the general that Hiiro was bound to serve, had once again called his lover away before dawn but Duo knew he’d soon be back. He always came back for more whether it be morning, noon or night and Duo was more than happy to accommodate his every whim and desire. The only thing he refused to grant him was to voice his name. This had become a sort of stand off between the pair and Duo’s last remaining thread to his previous life. He held it dear to his heart and although Hiiro delighted in teasing him about it he did not demand his little lover’s compliance in the matter.

Today was the Tanukh. The feast of the seventh moon and the entire camp had been preparing for it for over a week. Lambs had been slaughtered and marinated in deep pits of wine and spices. Huge barrels of mead and fruits and melons from every corner of the land had been gathered together. The thick aroma of freshly baking breads, sweet pasties, a thousand delights for the senses all mingling together on the light morning air brought him up out of his warm sanctuary to greet the day. There was no real reason to remain. When Hiiro wanted him he found him no matter where he was. He smiled at the thought as he slipped into the dressing gown that had become his daily attire. It wasn’t the most masculine thing he’d ever worn but it wasn’t all that much different from what a lot of the men wore on their off duty days. He’d become accustomed to it even though his was sewn of pure silk and died to match his eyes. It was a bit like silk chaps actually only it had a back thank god. Though, Duo smiled at the thought, it was amazingly easy to invade. His sandals were of a higher grade than most, a gift from Hiiro like the rest of his belongings, and the head dress wasn’t something he was really fond of but he wore it in compliance with his master’s wishes. At least he wasn’t forced to wear one of the heavy veils like the generals harem girls. Thankfully, the man tended to stay in his own part of the camp which suited Duo just fine as he didn’t really like him very much. The last bit of his garb was the golden collar Hiiro insisted he wear. He’d been adverse to it at first but had come to understand quickly enough that it wasn’t so much a means of possession as protection. The sapphire that hung against his throat clearly told anyone who saw it that he belonged to Hiiro. So far, no one had dared to cross the eight feet tall Jinn and bother him though he’d gotten the feeling from some of the men they were thinking very hard on it. He paused a moment gazing into the polished surface of one of the pitchers since there were no mirrors and he hadn’t worked up the nerve to face his vanity and ask for one before he stepped out into the brightly lit morning.

It was truly beautiful. Hot, yes, but the sky was so blue and the land produced such riches as the sweet melons and fruits that sustained them. It had become his home.

“Ah! Duo! A beautiful day!” Dahnal called and Duo returned his greeting as he passed by busy with his preparations for the coming festivities.

Dahnal had been one of the first friends he’d made and was the main reason he could now at least communicate with the locals. It had occurred to him several times over the past couple of months that he was living in the midst of a war camp but they had yet to face any battles or travel anywhere at all. Perhaps they were reserve troops? No one really seemed to want to talk much about things of that nature so he tended to stay away from the subject. Hiiro would tell him if anything important was going down.

“Duo… cover your face child,” Irina, the eldest of Atulh’s wives said trying to hook one side of Duo’s dangling headdress over his face.

“Stop it, ya ol’hag!” he chided the young woman making her laugh.

She was somewhere around her mid twenties though the expression in her dark eyes bore the weight of a lifetime. Duo knew it was only by the grace of this woman’s heart that he’d been accepted by the other members of the harem and since these were the only people he was allowed to really socialize with her kindness had been a god send. His activities were restricted among any others since he lived under the laws of the harem himself. As it turned out it had been his presence amid them in the first place that had caused the soldiers to take notice of him. Had he not thrown up he might have gone unnoticed since he’d been dressed very similar to the girls on that fateful day but things hadn’t gone that way. He learned that his sin was punishable by law. It was believed that he’d attempted to infiltrate the harem for his own selfish wants which was an instant death sentence in this world. The only reason he was alive was because Hiiro had begged for his life. He could still see the tall Jinn dropping to his knees in front of his Master that day and smiled. Hiiro had been instantly enamored with him. So much so he’d traded the life of one of his Master harem for Duo’s. The longhaired boy had been mortified to learn that the girl had died in order to save his life until Hiiro confessed that she was alive and well and probably sun bathing on a beach in the tropics. Well, what the boss didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him right?

“And why is a strong lad like you lazing in bed at this hour?” Irina admonished offering him a biscuit from the basket she held as he fell into step beside her.

“My bed is more appetizing than even your biscuits,” Duo laughed nibbling his makeshift breakfast.

“Eat,” she scolded. “You’re lighter than half the women here,” she said handing him another biscuit which he summarily handed off to a passing guard.

“My Lord is content with my body the way it is,” he smiled.

“You could stand a little less contentment and a little more good health if you ask me,” she retorted.

“I am in perfect health!” he laughed snatching her off her feet to carry her kicking and squealing the last few feet and into her tent.

The guards and soldiers surrounding them gaped in wide wonder because if any of them had dared to enact such a feat they’d have been skinned and left for the crows. It was only Duo’s place as a concubine of the mighty Jinn and Hiiro’s blood oath that he would not desecrate any of them that gave him such privileges. The girls were very happy to have a pet boy to play with however, and made use of him at their leisure most of the time. He’d become their favorite toy and ended up in the most outlandish get ups from time to time. Once it had taken him over a week to get all the tiny braids out of his hair after a night at their mercy.

“Have we any time today?” he asked inspecting the loom that had been designated his since the day he’d shown an interest in learning how to weave the heavy cloth of the tapestries.

“You have no other skill,” she scolded in a tolerant, motherly kind of way. “Go... play,” she chuckled indicating his work. “And stay out of trouble!” she called leaving him to his own.

He smiled after her and sat what was left of his biscuit down before turning to gaze at his part of the cloth. It was huge really and he already knew exactly what it would look like when it was finished. It was the tapestry that had hung in the National Museum in RiYoudh. He’d realized that if he hadn’t seen the image of his own face in the cloth that day he wouldn’t be there so his first endeavor on the loom had been to recreate his and Hiiro’s images incorporating them just as he knew they should be in the far right corner behind the front line of soldiers. Irina was the expert however. It had been her skill that’d he’d admired at first. It was really odd knowing that he’d been responsible for tricking himself into coming there. Life was really ironic sometimes.

It was pushing midday before he realized it and that stale biscuit wasn’t about to cut his hunger at this point. The camp always smelled good since someone was almost always cooking something but today it positively reeked of delicious flavors. None so savory as the one that slowly wafted over his shoulder as he became acutely aware of his lovers heady presence.

“It’s coming along nic…mmmm,” Hiiro moaned softly chuckling lightly as he pulled back from the kiss Duo had laid upon his lips. “There is no curbing your appetite I see,” he smiled willingly accepting the slight boy into his arms as he stood and turned to greet him.

“You snuck up on me again,” Duo scolded though it was redundant when accompanied by the kisses on his chin and neck.

“I like the look on your face when you’re thinking of me,” Hiiro told him pulling him closer still.

“Yeah?” Duo smiled pulling back to grin at him. “Do you like what I’m thinking now?” he asked suggestively pressing his hips into the larger boy’s rapidly swelling groin.

“Mmm,” Hiiro moaned happily bending to kiss him deeply, his hands slipping down his slender waist until they cupped the firm globes of his ass and squeezed tightly. Duo groaned deliciously as he melted into the Jinn’s wide chest. “It would appear this morning wasn’t enough to satiate my beautiful human,” he smiled picking him up before turning to a pile of pillows in the corner that was there for this very purpose though in reality it was for the Generals use. Hiiro didn’t think he’d mind, or maybe he just didn’t care.

“That was hours ago,” Duo smiled lying back as he was deposited in the soft bed.

“Indeed,” Hiiro agreed bending over him to kiss him, his familiar weight as welcome as the fires of home as he pushed the braided boy’s robes aside and slipped effortlessly between his thighs.

He wasted no time on the preparation knowing it would hardly be necessary not to mention his need was already driving him beyond the point of reason. Duo hissed loudly into his mouth as he was once again filled to the breaking point with sensation as well as flesh. No matter how many times he opened himself to his lover he just never felt like it was enough. He craved him like air or food or drink. He needed this feeling, he’d become hopelessly addicted to him and though he knew exactly what that meant he just couldn’t bring himself to care. He had him now, he had all of him, he had him deep inside him moving slowly as he held him tight and kissed him with more tenderness than he’d ever hoped for. This was all true happiness would ever be.

“Master Ala Hiiroalaa...Ah!” the page boy gasped seeing the two nestled together in the pile of pillows and clothes before dropping to his knees and burying his face in the sandy floor. Duo might have jumped up or done something besides just turn a little bit red some weeks ago at such an intrusion but he’d become accustomed to the fact that once started, nothing short of an atomic bomb going off would stop his lover from completing their union.

“What is it Akiem?” the Jinn asked not bothering to look up from where he’d been nibbling Duo’s neck.

“M...Master Atulh commands your presence,” the boy replied still kissing the floor.

“What?” Hiiro grumbled yet his irritation didn’t extend to his hips which kept their slowly rocking time. “I’ve only just left him,” he sighed. He let the boy lay there on the floor for a good five minutes before he finally responded to the summons. “Very well,” he said. “Return,” he told him barely waiting for him to slip out the door before he dug into his violet eyed lover swallowing his cries of ecstasy as he quickly brought them both to fruition.

“Sorry,” he told him bringing them down as slowly as possible without dallying more than necessary.

“Make it up to me later,” Duo smiled kissing his nose.

“Willful human,” Hiiro chuckled steeling another kiss before he extracted himself.

Miraculously neither of them needed to clean up afterwards which was the norm in these instances. Hiiro didn’t always use his power for such conveniences but sometimes, when it was called for he’d spare a little magic for his lovers comfort. Duo smiled as he watched him go, his words bringing a warmth to his heart. They had become a term of endearment over the past few weeks since Hiiro used them almost as much as he did his name. It wasn’t like Duo hadn’t earned it but that only made him all the happier when he said it. It meant that he hadn’t lost his free will and that Hiiro didn’t mind that one little bit. It may have looked like Duo was the slave concubine of the mighty Blue Jinn but he knew the reality of those deep, sapphire eyes late at night when nothing else in the world mattered but how deep they could get inside each other. Hiiro was as much as slave as Duo and neither one of them was about to complain.

He began to wonder about his wayward lover as the day wore on and he did not return. It wasn’t all that uncommon for him to be gone for a full day but it seemed a bit lonely for Duo since this was a day of celebration. This particular army had been stationary long enough to have gained some sense of home. There were even women and children in the body of the camp. Refugee’s of past battles that had been taken as wives or pages, even the odd infant or two but even as the night came and the fires roared to life there was still a severe lack of big, blue eyed Jinn. Duo had wandered among the others for awhile before settling into a large poof amidst his peers to sulk. Irina and several of the other girls tried to brighten his spirits and coerce him into dancing with them but even the delightful sounds of the music and gayety felt gray and drab in the absence of Hiiro’s presence. He sighed heavily as he watched his friends playing and cavorting in the dancing firelight and realized once again how very, hopelessly addicted he’d become to his lover.

“You’re sulking.”

Duo smiled letting the relief and joy fill him up at the sound of Hiiro’s soft intonation.

“You snuck up on me again,” he teased turning as the larger Jinn crawled into his poof with him.

“You’re a very cute sulker,” Hiiro grinned kissing him warmly as he pulled him close to his side and cuddled up.

“How long have you been watching me?” the longhaired boy asked accusingly eyeing his smug looking lover sideways.

“At least an hour,” he confessed moving in to nuzzle and nibble his jaw and neck. Duo’s mind washed with desire that gently rained down into his body drenching him in the warm heat that had become his sustenance.

“Stalker,” he admonished thought the cute little pout that accompanied it only served to heighten Hiiro’s need to possess him so he found himself being turned over and pushed down into the poof as he was kissed senseless, his body and mind instantly lost to the sapphire flames.

A moment later he knew from the scents and textures alone he was no longer amid the celebrants. The sound of the music and laugher had died away into the distance and the familiar aroma of his own bedding comforted him as he was slowly driven beyond his limits once again by the beauteous Jinn that had so completely stolen his heart. It took a little while for his muddled brain to realize that something was different tonight. Hiiro was taking the greatest care to savor every moment they shared together and though this wasn’t uncommon there was an underlying thread there that made Duo wonder as to its origins.

“What is it?” he asked as Hiiro slowly kissed and nipped along his chest and stomach. He’d already taken him twice, each coupling drawing later into the night until the dawn was fast approaching and the camp lay all but still.

“The Master grows weary of peace,” Hiiro sighed laying back in the comfort of their bed. “His favor with the Lord Kahn weakens with the passing of the seasons,” he told him. Kahn. So this was that war. Well, that explained the Mongolian warriors.

“So, we’re to go to battle?” Duo asked softly wondering for the first time in awhile if he would actually survive in this era.

“We,” Hiiro chuckled rolling over on top of him as he kissed him gently. “Are not going anywhere,” he told him. “The battle field is no place for a concubine,” he explained when Duo sulled up.

“I want to come with you,” he told him knowing he could never live in this world without Hiiro. Whatever happened they’d face it together even if it meant his death.

“Why?” Hiiro chuckled cocking his head curiously and looking at him as if he’d lost his mind.

“I’ll stay by your side,” the longhaired boy replied stretching up to kiss his chin.

“You don’t know what you’re asking,” Hiiro warned falling into the boy’s insistence.

“I’m coming with you,” Duo stated softly gently coercing his will with his mouth until it shivered with delight and he knew he’d won. “Hey,” he smiled chuckling at the disappointed expression in the Jinn’s blue eyes when he ceased his kissing. “Does this mean I get to wear armor and dress like a guy for a change?” he asked hopefully and Hiiro laughed out loud. It was a warm and rumbling sound that sank deep inside of Duo’s chest until he could feel it in his bones and he loved him for it.

“You will need no more than this,” the exotic boy said softly holding out his right hand.

Duo smiled in wonder when the palm shimmered and a silken, red ribbon slithered out of his hand. He watched in utter fascination as the satiny cord wrapped around Hiiro’s arm then gasped softly when it crossed his chest and dug beneath the skin. His eyes darted to Hiiro’s wondering at his smile where a crease of pain should have been then he felt a nudge against his chest and suddenly his entire body came alive as the ribbon invaded the cavern and wrapped itself tightly around his beating heart. He could feel Hiiro’s on the other end rhythmically thumping along as he leaned down and kissed him. There was no doubt in his heart that he was safe from anything that might endanger him in the upcoming battle as his lover moved to take him once again. As long as Hiiro’s heart was still beating nothing would be able to harm him. It was as much a security for Hiiro as himself; he knew that because he had no doubt that Hiiro would not want to live in this world without him.
