The proposition Wufei and Duo had made was a decadent
one, a proposition part of him longed for. However, the logical part
of his mind told him this could never work. Sure, it’d be fun
while it lasted, but sooner or later someone would be left out. Seeing
as how he they’d been in a committed relationship for years,
there was no doubt he’d be the one on the outside again when
the novelty wore off. And he’d never forgive himself if it was
Duo or Wufei who by some strange twist of fate wound up the one left
out. That wasn’t a pleasant prospect. He’d already
tasted too much of what they could offer. It would be burned into
his memory for the rest of his life. To taste more and lose it would
be more than he could handle. “Quatre?” He jumped slightly and looked over his shoulder. “Trowa,
don’t sneak up on me like that.” The taller man sat beside him, smirking slightly. “Sorry.
It’s a habit.” They sat in companionable silence for a while before
Trowa spoke softly. “They love you, you know.” He sighed softly. “That doesn’t make it…
workable.” “All relationships take work. They’ve wanted
you with them for a long time.” Quatre grunted. “Then why am I just now finding
out about it?” Trowa sighed softly. “Because they thought there
was something between us.” He looked to his friend so sharply he was surprised
he hadn’t injured his neck. “But you and Heero-“ “Kept it hidden from anyone but you,” he cut
in quietly. Quatre’s lips flapped silently for a minute before
he realized he must look like a fish out of water. He looked back
to the ocean. “Do you think it could work?” Trowa sighed softly. “I want you to be happy. Duo
loves and wants you. Wufei loves and wants you. I know, at the very
least, you’re attracted to them. Would it be so bad to take the
chance?” He closed his eyes. “I don’t… I’m
scared that I’ll end up alone. Being alone from the beginning
is one thing, but ending up alone-“ “You won’t.” He turned suddenly, wide eyes gazing up at Duo who had
spoken and then to Wufei who was smiling softly, hopefully. “We’re
not the types to send off those we love.” Quatre shook his head. “There’s no way this
can work.” Duo and Wufei knelt on either side of him, the braided
man speaking. “Sure it can. We love you, as much as we love each
other. Can’t… Can you come to love us?” He took several breaths. Come to love them? That was
a ridiculous question. He already loved them both. Loved them enough
to not want to destroy what was between them. “I won’t mess
up your relationship.” Duo and Wufei exchanged glances before the American
spoke. “You won’t mess anything up. You’re already
between us, but I promise it’s in the best way possible.” Quatre gaped at Duo. “I don’t understand.” “Both of us sorta fell for you, but we thought…”
He flushed slightly and Wufei finished for him. “We thought you
were with Trowa. When we found out you weren’t, we decided to
see if maybe you would consider being with us.” Quatre was an intelligent man who could work a boardroom
flawlessly and fearlessly. At the moment, however, he was having trouble
stringing two words together in his thoughts, much less speak. In one sense it was extremely simple, they all wanted
and loved each other so why not? In another it was incredibly complicated.
Three men in a steady relationship just wasn’t done. “Quatre?” He looked to Wufei who cupped his
cheek in a warm palm. “I’m sorry we’ve worried you
so much.” He glanced briefly to his lover before taking a breath.
“We won’t pressure you again. That was unfair to you. If…
you’d prefer, we can leave. I’d rather not destroy what’s
left of your vacation.” Quatre stared through wide eyes as the Asian stood.
He felt Duo’s presence disappear from his other side and they
made their way up the beach. So that was that. They’d leave him
in peace and he didn’t need to labor over it. They wouldn’t
expect anything from him. They wouldn’t touch him again. That
was an unpleasant thought. He turned before he could think about it. “Wait!” They looked back to him, hope clear in their faces,
but he wasn’t sure what to say now that he had their attention.
He bit his lip. “I…” He closed his eyes. “Don’t
leave.” Duo and Wufei exchanged glances before the braided man
squatted beside the blond. “We love you and want you, but it’s
your decision to make.” He opened his eyes to look into violet. “If you’re
serious, and I mean plans for forever,” he licked his lips, “I
want you, too.” He looked to Wufei. “Both of you.” They were on him in seconds. Fevered lips and hot hands
covering his body in more seductive sensation than he’d ever
felt. Duo pushed him to his back in the sand, devouring his mouth.
Another pair of lips teased his neck and he fought for a moment of
sanity. “Not here.” The seductive ministrations stopped and a moment later
he was scooped into strong arms. He looked up into velvet onyx eyes.
“I have the biggest bed.” Wufei smirked. “Then we’ll make good use of
it.” Quatre fought valiantly to keep his pulse in check,
but all the work was for nothing as he was dropped unceremoniously

eyes raking over the flushed ivory skin before them. Blue eyes slit
