Chapter 7 Heero drove the car home in silence, keeping a close
eye on Duo as he drifted in and out of unconsciousness. Looking over at Duo ,he felt the feeling he kept having
tug at his heartstrings and he reached over and touched the Shinigami's
face softly, he was burning up pretty bad with a fever. He made a quick stop on the way home dashing in and out of the chemist and drove above the limit all the way home ..He lifted Duo out of the car and carried the boy into his own room and decided that this would be the best place to watch over him at least that way he could stop him from doing anything else so stupid. Heero had made up his mind, the boy would definitely
get a telling off as soon as he was better... He laid the unconscious boy on his bed and ran off into
the bathroom bringing a wet cloth out, placing it over Duo's forehead.
Then he took off back outside, grabbed the items he'd
got from the chemist, stopped in the lounge threw the stuff on a lounge
chair and dragged it into the bedroom with him. He moved his beside
table across and arranged the chair , placing it next to the head
of his bed, took the stuff from the chemist off the chair and placed
it onto the bedside table. He opened a packet of aspirin headed out to the kitchen
and grabbed a glass he dissolved the aspirin in some luke warm water
and mixed it up thoroughly, taking it back into the bed room and sitting
on the bed by Duo's side He gently lifted the Shinigami’s head. "Duo!"
he said firmly but in a whisper. "Duo it's me Heero! Can you
hear me...I have medicine for you .." The violet eyed Shinigami stirred, his eyes fluttered
and the boy looked up at His friend .."Shit Duo you look awful,
here, take this, it'll bring down your fever." Duo shook his head .."I .. I don't want it , Heero
I .."his eyes fluttered as he started to head back into unconsciousness.. "Duo c'mon please "The blue eyes filling with
worry over his ill friend, "You gotta take it Duo .now!!".... He shook him gently and Duo's eyes fluttered open again
as Heero placed the glass at his friend’s mouth, but to no avail
the boy refused to take it .. Heero sighed," Fuck it Duo this is no time to be
stubborn ..I know you hate aspirin but you're gonna take it even if
it kills me god damn you, you stubborn shit!!" He fought with the boy for almost 20 minutes, every
time it looked like Heero had gotten him to take it the other boy
would spit it straight out again and after changing the sheets on
the bed twice, finally Heero was at his wits end ,"That's it
you stubborn ass "he said as he stood in frustration .. thinking
about a way to get him to drink it ..."You're gonna drink this
shit if I have to force feed it to you ..!" Twice he found himself taking a mouth full of the stuff
himself and with out giving the violet eyed boy a chance to react
Heero placed his mouth roughly over the mouth of the unsuspecting
boy on the bed, held his cheeks firmly, emptying the contents of his
own mouth straight into Duo's.. Duo was so surprised even in his encumbered state that
he swallowed it. Well it was either that or choke. Heero sat upright and found that even though he could
feel the other boys eyes on him, he just couldn't look him in the
eyes, for some reason he felt a little self conscious and his lips
felt like they were tingling, probably because of the force he'd used
on the other boy, at least that's the excuse he used for it just to
make himself feel a little more comfortable again, he'd never been
that close to any one physically and try as he did, he couldn't shut
the feel of the warmth he'd felt on Duo's lips. Feeling a slight warmth develop across his cheeks from
thinking about it, he got up to leave the room, but found himself,
instead, back down on the bed by Duo's side. enveloped in the other
boys arms. *"Arigatoo, watashi no tomodachi, Arigatoo"*
{1} Heero swallowed nervously completely confused now by
what he'd been feeling and then a shocked look spread out over his
face as the violet eyed boy whispered into his ear... *"Ai shiteru Heero, to omoimasu"*{2} ~ * ~ Translations.. {1}*"Arigatoo, watashi no tomodachi, Arigatoo"*
simply means *Thank you my friend, Thank you {2}*"Ai Shiteru Heero, to omoimasu"* this
