Chapter 15 Another fever developed and Duo was back to square one
as he tried to combat the drugs that had been forced into his recovering
system. He was violently ill for weeks after and Heero was scared
at one stage he may not make it through the night. After that the blue eyed boy spent all his time taking
care of his friend and watching him with hawk like eyes, while at
the same time managing to avoid the feelings he'd felt so many times
before and it seemed to be working he'd shut them out quite well....until
One month later It was evening when Heero brought Duo's dinner to him
only to find that the violet-eyed Shinigami had drifted off to sleep
again and Heero suddenly found himself smiling down at his friend.
He placed the bowl of soup down onto the bedside table
and sat on the bed beside the sleeping boy. Sweat still poured from
his brow and without a seconds hesitation Heero picked up the cloth
from the bed beside the boy, rinsed it in the cool water and placed
it back onto his forehead. The boy stirred in his sleep and Heero gasped as the
boy rolled over and curled around his waist but then smiled as he
saw the peaceful look on Duo's face. There was that feeling again, the strange warm sensation
lingered about him once more only .a little stronger this time and
he shivered as Duo's violet eyes sprung open and smiled up at him,
and he looked away immediately focussing on the bowl of soup he'd
brought for his friend, trying as hard as possible to ignore the unexplainable
urge he had to take the boy in his arms and hold him. Any excuse to ignore what he was sensing although he
still couldn't understand why he felt this way. It still made him
feel uncomfortable he wasn't used to feeling strange things like this
and he sighed. "Hey Duo. Soups up buddy. " After all they had been friends for a long time now
and friends were allowed to feel worried about each other right! At
least that's what he was thinking as the boy touched his arm. "Soup? "The boy questioned still extremely
groggy, his hand still attached to Heero's arm. "Yeah Duo soup. I made it for you its vegetable
combo.”He found himself placing his hand unthinkingly over Duo's
and squeezing it gently before realizing it and letting go. "W, Well you need to sit up "Heero almost
stuttered as he helped the Shinigami to sit upright by putting the
pillows around him so that he could take the soup with out choking. "You want me to leave you to it or do you need
help?" "Heero you shouldn't be doing all this for me I'm just a worthless idiot. It's what I am now. I’m not worth it!" The violet-eyed boy turned his head away in shame. Heero's face turned from concern into a mild anger.”IIE
CHIGAU!!! {1} The wild blue-eyed boy almost yelled "Who says
you're not worth it Maxwell? You!" He turned the boys face back
to face his own wrong. Do you think I'd be here with you now, do you
think I'd drink that disgusting medication and spit it into your mouth
every day, do you think I'd make you soup and bring it to you, do
you think I'd spend all my time with you, taking care of you and worrying
about you for the past 8 months, If you weren't fucking worth it!!!!!!!" Duo gasped at the sincerity in the boys angered but
firm words, "H, Heero.I I.." "Shut up I haven't finished Maxwell!" Duo shut his mouth, surprised at Heero's sudden* I'm
talking here* mode. "Don't you ever think for one minute that you're
not worth it Duo Maxwell. You’ve saved me and risked your life
for mine more than once and now it's my god damned turn ..and you
are not gonna take this away from me you hear me Maxwell....You god
damned Shinigami stop playing god of death for once and try to find
a reason enough to live!!!!! ." he sighed deeply staring into
the other boys eyes.. Duo suddenly raised his hand up to Heero's cheek and
gently touched it .."I already found it Heero that's why I've
been fighting harder.. ' He spoke up sincerely and his eyes pierced
Heero's."I just wish my reason for living could love me the way
I know I love him.. Heero stared at the boy shocked by the revelation of
the last comment although his heart jumped as Duo had spoken….”Duo
I, I’m .. Still not sure How I feel …” ”You obviously felt something the night you jerked
off while watching me sleep !!” the boy almost growled ”What!! What the hell!! You were awake ??”
“I heard you, you called my name ..” Heero’s heart skipped a beat …………… "Here eat your soup. I have 6 months to get you
back to your old self " the perfect soldier ordered as he lifted
the bowl to his friends mouth and shoveled in a mouthful of soup before
the surprised Shinigami could reply … "Heero don't change the damn subject!" “We’ll talk about this later ..” “Too damn right we will ..”Duo snapped at the perfect soldier ..”Too damn fucking right!” End part 15 Translations… {1} IIE CHIGAU… In this instance this means No
