of citrus and silliness. Read if you dare! " Of Fruitbaskets and Beaches " Fifth Installment: The Girls Meet the Boys The Bitch Squad (Duo giggled every time he thought of them as that) arrived at the beach in their separate cars. That all by itself made a huge statement. Each drove a convertible, and lined up as follows. Kyra drove a silver Lambirguini with a red, gold, and black phoenix painted down the hood. Lydia drove a blue and silver Porsche. Syriith drove a Black McClairon F1 with green and purple flames down the hood and sides. Adriana drove a red Toyota Celica. Jade drove a black Mitsubishi Eclipse with pink wings painted on the hood and pale green peace symbols on both doors. Ivy drove a neon yellow Stingray Corvette with barbed wire and ivy painted down the hood and sides. Himself, Duo drove a dark plum Ferrari. He loved the way the paint sparkled in the sunlight. Almost as one the seven friends stepped out of their cars, grabbing their packs and linking arms to stroll down the beach. Duo, of course, took dead center, and he eagerly looked around for his boyfriend. Not only was today Heero's big surf competition, but he was introducing them all to his friends today. Duo had only ever met Lamasu, so he was excited. There he was. Looking extremely sexy in his tight wetsuit, Heero raised one hand. Duo immediately loosed himself and sprinted down the beach to jump into Heero's arms, legs automatically wrapping around the taller boy's waist. Heero caught him with ease, chuckling faintly as he accepted Duo's wet, open-mouthed kiss. After Heero and Duo were done with their quite public display of affection, a group of guys came up behind them, all wearing knowing smirks. Duo recognized only Lamasu. "Hey, man," said the one in the lead. He was very attractive. Like Lamasu he had silver hairperhaps more brightly metallicbut that was precisely where any similarity ended. He looked to be a little older than Heero, maybe a year, and his body bespoke strength and stamina. He also had that cocky expression on his face of one who is confident and skilled and knows it. Heero, still holding Duo, turned slightly so he could see them all. In fact, every single one of them was attractive, and if not for Heero he would have been interested in any one of them. Like the Bitch Squad there were six of them. "I'm guessing," said that silver-haired hottie in the lead, "that this is your girl, Heero?" Duo blushed a little, smiling only a trace shyly. "Guys," Heero said, "this is Duo. Duo, this is the Coalition." Duo idly wondered if Heero labeled everything because he couldn't remember their names either. "Hi," he said, resting his head against Heero's neck. He was always shy around new people, especially hot guys. The lead guy laughed. "Wow, you weren't shittin' Heero. He's really cute. Nice to meet ya, Duo. I'm Dante. Fearless leader of the Coalition. Excluding Heero of course. He owns us. This here is my right hand man, Jason. What is he good for, you ask? Well, what the hell isn't he good for? You need it, he's got it. And if he don't, he'll damn get it for you." Duo smiled at the black-haired, blue-eyed youth. Jason gave him a 'what's up' kind of smile in return. Dante slung an arm around Lamasu's shoulders. "This is Lamasu, but you've already met him. He's a little gnarly, but he's okay." Lamasu gave Duo a smile. "Hello again, Duo. Phantom misses you, you know. She won't speak to me anymore because I haven't brought you around." Duo couldn't help himself and giggled. Dante was moving on. "This is Daniel," he introduced the next in line. Like Dante, Daniel's body was toned and strong without real bulk. He was a very attractive redhead. "He's a mechanic like me. If it's broken, he'll fix it. If it can't be fixed, he'll break it some more." Daniel gave Dante a strange look before flashing Duo a winning smile that Duo knew would kill the ladies. Hell, it would have killed him if not for Heero. Who was sliding his hand under Duo's shorts to stroke his ass. "This emo-goth is Wes," Dante went on, clapping a lean, wiry fellow on the back. His shoulder-length black hair had brown tips. "He could hack into Mars." "I'm not an emo!" Wes snapped, shoving Dante. Who barely moved an inch. "And last but not least," Dante concluded, moving on to the last, "this is Jin. He ain't good for a thing." Unlike Daniel and Dante, Jin's bulk was all muscle. He looked like he could take on a moving freight train and win. Fire and aggression lurked in his black eyes, and he had a skull wrapped in barbed wire tattooed on his left bicep. Duo hated to think of meeting him in a dark alley. He looked at Dante. "And what are you good for?" he asked. "Why, keeping these boneheads in line, of course," Dante said grandly. That comment earned him several irate looks. Jin cracked his knuckles. Duo, not sure if that meant something bad or not, jumped out of Heero's arms and grabbed Jin's hand. "Okay, all of you have to meet my friends. They're right over here." "Oh, the Bitch Squad, eh?" Dante mused. "I'm down with that." Casting a grin over his shoulder, Duo dragged Jin toward the girls, knowing the rest would follow. Jin wore a slightly bemused expression, letting himself be pulled along. "Everyone," Duo said, "these are Heero's friends. They call themselves the Coalition." The six girls eyed the six boys. Kyra stepped up. "Hi," she greeted them. "I'm Kyra, also known as Queen Bitch." She introduced the rest of them, and Duo saw Dante eyeing her with open interest. "Nice tattoo," he said, his gaze following it. "Does that phoenix . . . stop . . . at some point in your bikini?" "No," she replied. Duo swore Dante was drooling. Dante's inner dialogue: Wow, I'd really like to follow that with my tongue . . . Lamasu had to admit, Duo's friends were pretty cute. Each of the six girls had her own definite flare. Yet, only one of them leaped out at him. The one Kyra had named Syriith. Scary Bitch. He didn't find her one bit scary. He found her . . . delicious. In the kind of way ice-cream spiked with viper venom would be. She was giving him a similar look of blatant attraction. He found himself thinking, I wonder if she likes fire. She looked like the kind of person who would have been good in Chemistry. Down the beach in the lookout tower, the announcement boomed across the beach that all competing surfers should line up on the beach. "Oh," said Dante, "that's our call. Come on, Gang, let's go cheer on our favorite daredevil!" He grabbed Duo and set him on his shoulders. Duo looked startled. Lamasu used this opportunity to slide to Syriith's side as the others hurried to the water. It gave him ample opportunity to admire the anarchy tattoo on her back, the flames surrounding it peaking right between her shoulder blades. "I like it," he said, placing his hand flat on her back. She neither jumped nor looked even remotely startled. Her brilliant green eyes met his crimson. "I thought you might." Then, "Where's yours?" It should have been creepy that she knew he had one, too. It wasn't. Pulling off his tee-shirt, he let her see the anarchy symbol on his own back. Unlike hers, his was surrounded by Celtic designs. "I like it," she said, a smile ghosting over her lips.
