didn't already know that "John" was our indestructable,
'perfect' soldier.*wicked smirk*)
Finding Myself Part 6 Hawk's arrival, and Tk's early return from her canceled seminar, had prompted a series of "What do we do tonights" that had ended with Hawk's suggestion of them hitting the town. A short conversation between the girls while John was in the shower, had Liz admitting that now that they'd taken him off the sedatives, it was time to get John out and into the world. "I really don't know about this," John said with a frown as he fiddled with the laces on the leather pants the girls had made him buy. "Oh come on," Hawk said bouncing excitedly from one foot to the other, "It'll be fun." "Besides, you can't spend the rest of your life, mopping around the house." Tk said softly. "Something tells me I'm not a party person." John grumbled running his hand through his messy chocolate hair, frowning. "How do you know if you don't try at least once?" Hawk asked fussing with the fringe of her beaded red shirt. John glanced at the exuberant girl who'd become one of his best friends and smiled. She was dressed in tight black leather pants, with the red beaded shirt, and her hair pulled back away from her face, ***She's cute*** John admitted to himself. ***But she's not my type*** "Liz, stop fussing in the mirror and get down here!" Hawk yelled from the bottom of the stairs. John turned his attentions to Tk. Dark blue Jeans, and a white baby Jane top accented a full figure perfectly. He grinned softly to himself. ***Also not my type, but just as cute*** " Woohoo... look out for the girls on the prowl!" Tk whistled as Liz came down the steps. Long red hair loose, but pinned back at the sides with clips, black leather skirt, silver tank top, and your classic 'bitch' boot, made a stunning outfit for the normally more reserved redhead. John shook his head and smiled at Tk's antics. Running his eyes appreciatively over Liz's frame, he grinned ***If I wasn't Gay, I'd definitely think about it!*** After the last male friend the girls had brought home, John knew his own preferences leaned more to the male gender, especially when Trent, had made a pass at him and he'd actually considered accepting the invitation. *** But what stopped me?*** John shook his head and filed that away for another time. "I look ridiculous." Liz stated simply as she tugged at the skirt. "You look fine. Loosen up." Hawk growled, as she fixed her make-up in the hall mirror. Liz tossed John a 'help me' look that made him chuckle. "You look fine," he said softly, "and if anyone tries anything you don't like, they'll answer to me." Cobalt eyes hardened dangerously with that last statement. Giving John a wary look, Tk smiled, "Hopefully it won't come to that." Shaking her head Tk continued, " But you won't be the only one of our male friends to threaten death, to any over zealous suitors on Liz's behalf." "Ready?" Hawk questioned, impatiently. At the nods from her friends she led the way to the car. Watching the car pull out of the driveway, two figures watched till it disappeared, then the taller of the two lifted one visible eyebrow and regarded his companion silently. "Damn, now where they going?" the shorter figure growled frustrated. No verbal answer was given; the only indication the statement had been heard was the fractional raising of the eyebrow again. "You're a big help." Turning on his heel,
the shorter figure shoved a long braid back over his shoulder. "Come
on. We'll just have to follow them." Straddling a nearby motorcycle,
the braided young man waited until his taller companion was seated
and peeled away from the drive. The club was loud and smoky and John nervously pulled at the hem of the short green shirt the girls had picked out to go with the leather pants. The pants themselves left little to the imagination, and the top was short enough to show off his midriff, and molded to his muscles perfectly. ***I feel ridiculous*** John tugged at the hem of the shirt again, and felt a hand over his. "Relax," Hawk's grin made John smile slightly, "You look great, you'll have every girl and guy in here begging for your attention." "That's what I'm afraid of!" John said quietly.
Hawk shook her head and smiled as she waved at friends across the
club. "Duo?" the uncharacteristic raising of the voice caused Duo to look at Trowa with a smirk. "What's the matter, Chicken!?" Duo stated
and then chuckled as Trowa stiffly walked across the street to take
his place in line. Following behind Trowa, Duo smiled; he had a wonderful
view, and he had pretty much figured out what Quatre and Wufie saw
in the tall silent mercenary. {Now if only Tro would loosen up and
let them get closer.} He mental intoned, and grinned as he saw one
of the bouncers checking out his friend. Watching the golden haired girl closely, Duo noticed she had a protective almost motherly air and following her gaze his jaw dropped in amazement as he caught sight of the stoic wing pilot on the dance floor with the other two girls. "I wouldnt believe it, if I hadnt seen it." Duo said in amazement as he pointed vaguely in the direction of the floor. Duo studied Trowas face for his partners reaction, and smiled at the faint look of shock that flashed across the normally expressionless face. "What now?" came the calm emotionless question, and Duos smile widened as he noticed Trowas attempt at schooling his expression once again. "We mix, mingle and wait till we can get him alone."
Duo said with a grin at the obvious tensing of Trowas shoulders.
"We dont want to arouse suspicion unless we have to."
Nodding in the direction of the bar, Duo moved forward, never completely
taking his eyes off of the Japanese boy whod long ago stolen
his heart. {I knew you were still alive, koi, I just dont know
why you didnt come back.} Approaching an empty stool next to a well built braided boy, Tk grinned and shook her head softly; he wasnt any older then John but in this town, it wasnt age that got you into the clubs it was looks. "Is this seat taken?" Tk questioned softly. The braided boy turned and flashed her a brilliant smile. "Be my guest," came the quick reply and Tk nearly gasped at the sight of gorgeous violet eyes set beautifully in a heart shaped face. Sitting down on the stool Tk reigned in her hormones with difficulty and waved to get the bartenders attention. "Whatll it be Tor," the purple haired girl asked with a grin. "Three of the usual and a beer." Tk replied with an answering grin. "Gotcha, wondered if that eye candy was with you guys." The girl continued as she mixed three drinks. Duo winced marginally at the reference to Heero as eye candy, but schooled his features to his usual cheery mask. "With us in the clubbing sense. He prefers guys for partners though." Tk countered with a small smile. "Mmm, too bad, hes really easy on the eyes." A tray with three drinks and a bottle appeared in front of Tk. "Jenna, will pick the tray up from the table later." "Thanks Tina." With a wave Tina turned to
wait on another customer. Picking up the tray, Tk turned to the braided
boy who shed noticed was eyeing John, and gave him a small smile.
"Ask him to dance, most hell say is no." She said
and grinned at the shocked expression she received before she walked
off towards the table. "Now what?" Duo asked with a small frown. "Ask him to dance." Trowa replied deadpanned.
Duo regarded his tall comrade, thoughtfully for a moment, then downing
the last of his beer, he pushed himself to his feet and headed across
the floor. Not able to hear the conversation, Duo watched with sinking spirits as the other boy led Heero onto the floor in time for a slow, sultry beat song. |
