Unfortunately, it doesnt look like Tk is going to get her happy ending very soon *eeps quietly, and hides under computer desk, as Tk brandishes her whip* as this story has taken on a life of its own. Forgive the shameless self-insertion, and the insertion of the two instigators of this fic. But I needed some OCs and this worked for me.
Finding Myself Part 2 Placing the key in the lock of their front door, Tk frowned lightly as Liz tried to help their new flat mate out of the car.
what if hes a murderer or a junkie? Tk asked quietly, trying not to raise her voice to a level where the young man in the bathroom could hear her. Toria Kaitlin Welch! His DNA came back as unknown, hes not listed as a missing person, or on the criminal records, taking a deep breath and sighing in frustration, Liz continued hell hes not even listed at any other hospitals, but hes got old injuries that would have required a doctor. Tk shook her head and frowned, I still say your being to accepting, but Ill trust your judgment. Before Liz could reply the young man, now labeled John, had come out of the bathroom , dressed in a pair of blue jeans, a green tank top, and a pair of ugly mustard yellow sneakers. End flashback
Glancing back towards the car Tk smiled lightly at the scene unfolding, John was refusing to let Liz help him out of the car, and Liz was getting frustrated with his blatant display of independence. Stop being so damn pigheaded, Liz grumbled as John once again slipped away from her arm. Im not gonna take the chance of you getting dizzy and falling on me. She growled softly and thwaped John on the arm. A slight smirk and John finally gave in and let her lead him to the stairs. ***why does this seem so familiar, I dont know her do I *** his smirk giving way to a puzzled frown, which he hid as quickly as it came, noting that neither of the girls seemed to have noticed it. Ya know if I didnt know better, Id say the two of you were related. a small smirk of her own, painting Tks lips, you certainly act like it. Liz crossed her eyes and stuck her tongue out at her friend earning a slight chuckle from John as he watched the two friends interact. Thats what people say about you and me, Tor, so whats our excuse? Youre rubbing off on me? Tk replied with a chuckle. Moving into the hallway she tossed her keys on the table, and hit the play button on the answering machine. Hey guys, so where are we heading for supper tonight, and when are ya gonna pick me up? Shit! a heavy sigh spilled forth as Tk, glanced at the phone, her mouth twisted in an annoyed grimace. We forgot about Hawk! Liz groaned and rolled her eyes. You call Cat, tell her to come here and that were ordering something, in! Dont,.. dont change your plans for me. Johns voice laced with exhaustion, as he leaned against the doorjamb. Shaking her head, Tk moved over and put Johns arm across her shoulders, as Liz put her arm around his waist. Together they lead him to the living room and helped him sit on the couch. Dont be silly, Liz replied softly, you have to eat to, and Hawk's gonna find out we got a male roommate sooner or later, she shrugged, may as well be sooner then later. Nodding Tk moved back out to the hall and the phone as Liz moved about making John comfortable on the couch. You dont have to do this! came the quiet declaration, as Liz propped Johns feet up on the coffee table. Dont have to do what? Tk countered coming back into the room. Take me in and take care of me came the quiet admission, especially when you dont like me. He finished setting his eyes directly on Tk. Blushing slightly, Tk tried to comment, but ended up stuttering out Whaaat? I heard you talking while I was in the bathroom, John paused for a moment, and held up his hand when Liz started to comment. Shes right, you dont know who, or what I am, I could be dangerous. *** something tells me I shouldnt be here, why? Why shouldnt I be here? And why does her accusation of my being dangerous, seem familiar somehow?*** Dont be ridiculous! Liz said softly, Tk... Tori's just the cautious one out of the two of us. Pausing for breath she frowned slightly, She has to be the voice of reason, because I act to much on gut feelings. Shaking her head softly she looked at Tk, Between her, and Alyssa, that's Hawk, or Cat by the way, Cat for Cathleen..." breaking off from her babbling Liz grinned wickedly, "anyway,... sometimes I think Tor must have been my older sister in a former life!" Heaven help us No! Tk exclaimed with an answering grin, a look of mock horror settling on her face. Id have gone insane. Watching John carefully she saw the small smile that crossed his features, fleetingly, and then disappeared. Sighing she shook her head and sat down on the chair facing him. I dont hate you, if thats what you think. I just,...I dont know you enough to make a decision, one way or the other. Nodding John didnt reply to that and Tk shook
her head in mild annoyance. Thats probably Hawk! nodding Tk waved Liz off to answer the door and turned back to John. Look, Liz has a big heart, and sometimes its gotten her in trouble. A helpless shrug of the shoulders , and Tk tipped her head to the side thoughtfully, I just dont want to see her get hurt, if you turn out to be... stormy blue eyes, met with strangely calm cobalt as she struggled for words. untrustworthy? John supplied quietly, Tk nodded brushing her bangs back out of her face. that fits as well as anything, I guess, she smiled, no hard feelings? she offered her hand and John glanced at it for a moment before taking it and shaking it stiffly. None. He acknowledged softly. ***Im not offended by her actions, shes simply being wary, and shes being exceedingly diplomatic, she reminds me of someone, but who?*** None what? Liz asked curiously standing warily in the doorway. Just behind her another girl stood observing the exchange with a hint of cautious amusement in her hazel eyes. Nothing, John and I just came to an understanding, thats all, Tk explained, giving John a faint smile. Which he vaguely returned. Mmm? Liz muttered, glancing from John to Tk and back again, when no one would make a comment she frowned, Im gonna go set up the spare bed she huffed and walked off. Grinning Hawk looked at John pensivly and then chuckled lightly, youll get used to that, ya can drive her right up the wall, by ignoring her. A peculiar look drifted across, Johns face and both girls glanced at him timidly. Are you all right? Hawk prompted quietly. Shaking his head John frowned, and then shook his head again.*** violet eyes, and a goofy smile? But her eyes arent violet! Does that have something to do with my past?*** Just something you said,... about driving her crazy,... for a minute.... I thought... I ... he broke off and his frown deepened. ***why did that seem so familiar*** Hey take it easy, Tk intoned gently, if
you force it, your memory isnt gonna come back. Nodding
unsurely, John leaned back against the cushions and closed his eyes. So what do you think? hes cute! Hawk said, absently tugging at her ponytail, but theres something...not odd, but... she broke off biting her bottom lip thoughtfully. I know what you mean, Tk countered softly, almost...frightening, and yet...hes.... scared, lonely, and completely confused. Liz added with a grin, her green eyes snapping in amusement, as the other two jumped at her presence. Gees Liz dont do that. Hawk grabbed her chest in mock pain, you trying to give me a heart attack? laughing softly at her friends antics, Liz pulled a chair around and straddled it. So, how do we go about, helping him get his memory back? she questioned softly. Taking in the confused and wary appearances of her two friends Liz sighed. She had hoped that once they got away from the hospital that Tk would relax and slip back into her usual, attitude. //You gotta remember , she didnt really want to bring him back here in the first place// she reminded herself solemnly. //and Hawk's always a little more reserved around strangers than we are.// Sighing inwardly Liz, tried to think of a way to bring her two best friends around. He looks Japanese, Hawks sudden observation, causing Tk and Liz to gaze at her in confusion, she shrugged, well,... maybe, some of his home country food will spark some memories? I suppose its worth a try! Liz, considered momentairly, then nodded decisively, Tk and Ill go order supper, and then I think we should put him to bed and work out our plan of attack. Walking out the front door, Liz looked back over her shoulder, keep an eye on him, Hawk. Gazing towards the living room, at the apparently resting young man, Hawk frowned, there was something unusual, about her friends house guest. She simply couldnt put her finger on it. End part 2.
