"Werewolves and Popcorn" It was Media Communications 342 in the winter semester. And it was one class before the Christmas break. The professor was feeling charitable (and lazy too, wanting to get home himself) when he decided to add film to the course outline for that class. They had watched many films so far, and most were dull 15 min clips, or a lot of commercials to study. But this time the students filed in to see the big projection screen down and the smell of about a dozen bags of microwave popcorn heaped on the profs desk. Trowa had a feeling that Heero should be sad he missed the fun, but knew the over-studious boy would just be glad that skipping out to leave for home early wasnt going to bring down his lofty GPA. The prof had everyone sit in the middle rows, making people grumble and shuffle and moan until everyone was cluttering the middle before he started the popcorn bags down the row. Do you mind? That soft, merry tenor asked. It was Quatre. The blonde bombshell from three rows up on the left of the room, not that he had noticed, of course. They had never formally met. Just that profs always asked how to pronounce his name during the first enrolment tally, and Trowa had down right memorized it. He was gorgeous from head to toe, and managed to look classy in everything he ever wore (not that he looked, of course). The boy didnt say much in class, but he asked questions a lot, so he already knew that his voice was a smiling, friendly tenor that always made him pay attention. Trowa found himself watching him more then the class sometimes. This was their 5th class together since freshman year, and Trowa had never gotten the opportunity to talk to him. And merry Christmas to him, now was finally the time: Not at all. Im Trowa. Trowa said quickly and kicking his own backpack clear of the chair legs. Quatre smiled gratefully and sat, sliding his own bag (a designer messenger style bag in tasteful black and red) onto his lap. Im Quatre. He said with a charming smile. With such manners, Trowa was almost expecting a handshake, but his hands became busy as the popcorn was passed to him. He looked at the bag, then at the desk, then at the popcorn. Trowa dove for his bag, grinning when his fingers found the stack of take-out napkins hed shoved in there just yesterday at lunch and hadnt gotten around to taking out. Here, he offered, opening them up on the desk. My hero, Quatre said with a 100-watt grin and he poured a modest bit onto the makeshift-plate. Always prepared? I may have been a boy scout in a past life. Who knows. Just fate, I guess. I dont normally carry that sort of thing. Trowa said with a hint of a blush. My Hero? Was the blonde honestly hitting on him, or was Trowa just hoping? The blonde grinned, Maybe its all fate then. The closest available seat WAS next to you... Trowa blinked. Fate was being next to him? No way... ...and you had napkins! The blonde finished after swallowing the kernel of popcorn with a grin. Right, napkins, what they were talking about... The professor turned the lights down then and the class was treated to the upbeat sounds of a DVD menu, which was quickly turned to play. Trowa didnt catch anything in the title except wolf. It was within the first 10 minutes that a shattering scream erupted in the room, sheiks and startled whoa!s as the villain popped out of nowhere (and the proff hid his snickers poorly behind his hand). Trowa felt the warmth of breath and sudden heaviness on his left side.... Quatre was clinging, one hand wound firm and hard around Trowas bicep and the other over his heart where he looked like he was trying to keep it from flying away or something. The blonde turned fluttering lashes towards Trowa, a shy blush covering his face as he realized his arm was still firmly wrapped around the other students arm. Sorry... he said, beginning to entangle it. Trowas hand came up quick, holding him in place for a moment, and he spoke the bravest words in his entire in-the-closet public-life, Thats okay. I dont mind. Not at all. The blonde blinked, then blinked again before breaking out into a bright smile, I dont care much for horror movies...but theres some good things at the theaters right now? Trowa was obviously getting an early Christmas gift! And the little flirting smile only boldened him more, Can I take you to dinner first? Tonight? Absolutely.
