Summary: Behind enemy lines, outnumbered and relying on luck, quick wit, and the element of stealth, two Santa’s have to do the impossible... Outfox the Winner Children.

"Twas the night before Christmas ..."

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house... there was snoring, rustling of blankets, and the quiet movement of Santa and his spouse.

Two men quietly picked their way through the living room of the large Winner house in Maine in classic stealth formation. They had to keep it tight, and watch out for obstacles on the floor, since the many winner nieces had finally settled down for the night wherever they dropped on the expansive living room floor. They were waiting for Santa, and he was way overdue.

“I blame your sisters for this...” Santa number 2 said, carefully tip-toeing over a sleeping blonde 9 year old to get to the tree and shove the presents under without waking her. He, naturally, barely disturbed her. This Santa Clause was trained as an acrobat. That was why he was taking point, and the other held the bag of toys.

“It is not my fault!” Santa number 1 glared at his partner as he handed the acrobat more presents to shove under the picky pines of the tree. “They just showed up! How was I supposed to know that this house had been chosen for the East-Coast Winner Sisters for the Christmas get together! I thought it was free!”

Santa number 2 glared back at his partner, clearly saying that he didn’t buy that crap.
A Winner niece, camped out in front of the fireplace where she had laid out a trap for Santa with pots, pans, and bells stirred a little. Both Santas shut up and willed her to go back to sleep. Enemies were all around, waiting for them to trip up and break the lines of defence. They were expecting a chimney assault, but these two Santas knew the importance of sneaking in from behind.

Thankfully, the little blonde guard finally did fall into a deeper slumber, and Santa number 1 crept closer to the plate of cookies and milk located in the enemy stronghold. No less than seven of his nieces were camped out there, waiting to catch him in the act. But he was good. With the stealth skills he had learned from years of service, Santa 1 picked up the plate, took a big, bold bite out of one of the largest shortbread cookies on the plate, then gulped the glass of milk until it was empty.

He grabbed a handful of cookies to make it look better, then grabbed Santa 2 and scampered out of the lion’s den, sighing in relief that they had made it.

Turning the corner, Quatre came face-to-face with 7-year old Illia. She had a glass of water in her hands and an accusing glare on her face. She was staring at the cookies that Uncle Quatre had... And she was beginning to look suspicious.

Thankfully, quick thinking saved them both. Trowa took a cookie out of Quatre’s hand and took a bite, then offered it to the girl, “Snack?” He was a very good at bold-face lies.
She bought it. Illia shook her head no, and then moved past them to go back to the living room, “Can’t eat. I’m on duty. We’re going to catch him this year.” She said with a solemn nod.

“Just remember to be quiet. I swear I heard something up on the roof a second ago, but, then I was too busy getting my snack. Good luck.” Trowa replied, walking Quatre (who was beginning to smirk) up to the bedroom.

She returned to her Santa-catching post in the living room and Quatre and Trowa tried to get upstairs as quickly as possible so as not to get caught.

Mission: Success.

T’was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...

Until the excited squeal of a 7 year old woke the entire house, proclaiming that Santa had been there already.
