"Found " 8) After hastily cleaning up a bit after Treize's call, Zechs sat in front of his computer, readjusting the settings to an audio-only format for the televideo call. [I can't wait to hear what he sounds like,] he considered, smiling. Then, taking a deep breath, he input the number. Turning the corner on the long corridor to his guest room, Duo began to run. He knew he'd be cutting this little break close, but he hadn't realized just how close until he heard the faint sound of ringing coming from his room. "Shit!" he yelled, as he opened the door and rushed across the room. Sliding into the computer desk he opened the channel to audio and took a deep breath. "Hel... Hello?" "Hello, Braidboy? This is Platinum6," Zechs responded in his usual low, husky voice, his eyes momentarily closed to concentrate on listening to the man on the other end. "Uh, hello. You really called," Duo responded. His heart was pounding and his mind was racing to combine that sultry voice with the image of the blond god he already had. "I really called," Zechs responded, noting from the other's slight breathiness and hesitation that "Braid" was a little excited to hear from him. He had to admit his own heart rate was a little elevated. The call from Treize had unnerved him a bit, and he'd already been unnerved from the impromptu "cybersex" with this other man in the chat room. [Now what do I do?] Duo thought, and sat down. Another deep breath. "Heh. So... you sound good. Your voice, I mean." "You like my voice?" Zechs asked politely. [He sounds at least as old as I am, that's good,] he thought, pondering the casual, baritone voice of the other man. It was an interesting voice as far as he could tell as yet, imbued with a quirky lilt that seemed to match Braid's penchance for playfulness. "You have a great voice," Duo said and chuckled. "It goes nicely with the image I have of you." [Great... okay, I guess "great" means he likes it,] Zechs thought. "Indeed? I'm afraid I'm still forming such an image of you as yet. Just knowing 'short' and about the hair... oh, and your large, expressive blue eyes... I don't think that's enough to form an image, though I will try. But if I fail..." He trailed off mysteriously, the corner of his mouth curving. "I'm not sure what else I could say to describe myself..." Duo said, and thought a moment, scratching his head. "Guess you'll just have to wait until you see me!" he grinned. [Saucy, isn't he?] "If I fail to form an image of you, then I will need to see the real thing to complete my mental picture..." Zechs murmured, reaching to touch the dead screen on the computer, regretting now that they hadn't made a video call. [Coward... and now you're talking about meeting him? Are you serious?] He thought about the project keeping him here at Lake Victoria Base. [They don't need me... if I slip away, they'll hardly notice. I can get Meiser to cover for my absence. I could use a few days away as it is...] "Braid, can I ask you more about yourself?" "You can always ask," Duo said and then held his breath, his eyes growing wide wondering if Platinum6 was having reservations. [But I'm not,] he thought. "What would you like to know? But be specific otherwise I'll just rattle on and on and on..." He laughed and crinkled up his nose. Zechs relaxed a little more at the other's casual, self-assured demeanor. "I can be specific... and if you don't want to answer something, it's all right." He let out his breath, then plunged in. "Something simple to start - what is your favorite color?" "Favorite color, huh?" Duo asked. That was an interesting question considering they'd already had cybersex together. [And now he wants to know my favorite color? Kind of nice actually. Maybe he *is* looking for more...] "I wear a lot of black... but that's not it," he said, his brow knitting with memories. "Blues and greens," he said with a smile. "Any shade of blues and greens." [Colors of water and plants,] Zechs mused, wondering why he'd chosen that particular question. It seemed so inane, but perhaps it would be more revealing in time. [He wears black a lot...] He thought of his own meager non-uniform wardrobe. [I have been a soldier far too long. I am way past the time when I should forge a separate life for myself, no matter what I do...] "My favorite color is red," Zechs admitted. "I do wear it a lot, though..." He trailed off again, thinking of his sad wardrobe. "And white," he heard himself saying, surprised. He knew it was not because of the OZ white uniform pants. It reached deeper to that. "I like white for its cleanness and purity. I'm... attracted to purity, I suppose." Then, as if wary of a response to that statement, he hastily added, "What shape is your face?" Duo leaned back in his chair and curled his legs under him. [Red... makes sense. He seems so intense. But white... for purity? That's deep.] "People have described my face as heart shaped," he said and lowered his gaze to his bare feet, feeling suddenly shy. "I always thought that was a silly way to describe someone's face... but it fits me." He looked up at the blank screen suddenly, as though he could feel Platinum6's eyes on him. "How would you describe your face?" he asked, with a slight frown, wanting desperately to see the man and be seen by him. "Actually, I think that would do as well for me... I do have high cheekbones which I suppose lend to that configuration," Zechs murmured. Suddenly he thought he could see his "BraidBoy" - a gamin face, lively, determined, playful and sensual, a cute nose and wide mouth that curved devilishly, an artlessly messy shock of chestnut brown hair with that damn braid spilled down his back like a waterfall... and the eyes... wise beyond his years, bearing his soul to be read like a book, but explicit with the joie de vivre of youth... [How old *is* he?] Zechs wondered, trying to capture the image in his mind, but it was already shifting out of focus. [Too young, I'm guessing, but there is something seasoned about him that doesn't fit that...] "I must see you," he breathed abruptly, and reached again to place fingertips on the monitor screen as if somehow the other man would be able to feel it. "I have so many more questions, but I need to connect with you personally..." [I don't even know his name!] The young Gundam pilot took a shuddering breath. [Why is it that I can destroy mobile suits... lives in the blink of an eye, but some mystery man tells me he wants to see me and I lose it?] "Yes... I want to see you, too," he said hoping he didn't sound too nervous or desperate. "I'm sure there's lots we could... talk about," he grinned and barely withheld a giggle at the thought of what else they might do. The bare hint of suggestiveness made Zechs smile. [Eager, isn't he? No matter, I'm equally as fascinated.] He took a deep breath. "Then one more question - is there anything you would ask of me or ask me about right now? I have one little thing but I want to make this offer to you first. Anything? And then we can discuss our... arrangements." "Yeah... there is one thing," Duo said, his deep blue eyes widening with a hint of fear. "How is it you're not taken?" [Or are you?] he thought to himself, but immediately shoved that concern aside. He took a breath and continued in his typical run-on manner, "I mean just from the little bit you've shared with me you seem like an interesting enough guy... and thoughtful, too." Zechs could not help the quick exhale of breath that escaped him in surprise at the other man's words. [Interesting... *thoughtful*?] No one had ever told him he was thoughtful. Not at least in a manner that was believable, as most around him said things to him in order to curry his favor, not to be genuine. [He wonders if there is another...] "Thank you," Zechs replied gravely, touched. "Perhaps it is because I have recently completed a goal in my life that did not allow for that... and since then, I have found myself in a state of transition, finding a new goal in life as it were... and finding there is room at last for something new... someone new... that is, if that should come to be." [I don't want to let on how much I hope something can come of this, how much my heart leaps at the possibility... how much I need this...] "Okay," Duo sighed in relief. [He sounds so intense, but not like that *other* guy, Heero. That Gundam pilot was intense, but at least this guy will talk to me!] "That's great that you've completed a goal..." [I guess I sort of have, too. I got to Earth with my Gundam, but then...] Duo's eyes brightened thinking of Platinum6's words, "And I'm glad you have time now for something new." [Me, I hope!] [That was relief in his voice... wasn't it?] Zechs was still touching the monitor, still leaning his mind and spirit toward this compelling quest, this beguiling spirit. Yet again he was reminded of the strange little pilot who commited suicide. [This little man is nothing like that, he exudes life too much to sell it so cheap...] "Please," he spoke aloud, "what is your name?" Duo gasped. The question seemed so personal... so obvious, and yet it hadn't occurred to him to ask or even to tell. [Of course, we need to share this... first.] "My name... is Duo," he said, with a slanted grin. "And what is yours?" [Duo... sounds Italian or Sicilian,] Zechs thought, frowning for a moment. He wondered whether that was a given name... or a made-up one. [It's a strange one, although I do like it... perhaps he has to hide his real name like I do. I do want this, I do...] Zechs settled back, crossing his arms over his chest, trying to ignore a sudden cold in this room - was something warning him not to proceed with this? Somehow giving the other his name was almost the most intimate thing they'd done yet, and it was as if a threshold between them was being crossed. [But I've already got a foot out the door,] he decided, thinking of his career with OZ. [God, I want this, I want him. Very well, I'll use the name I gave myself...] "My name is Zechs," he murmured low. "Zechs..." Duo repeated the name as he smiled. "I like that. It sounds strong and..." he faded off. He couldn't say what he was really thinking - that his mystery man was sounding more and more like the man of his dreams. [If he's half as wonderful as I think he is I'll fall to my knees and thank the heavens above!] "Well, I'm gonna enjoy calling you Zechs," he chuckled and batted his eyes. Though he knew the other man couldn't see the flirtation, he hoped he could hear it in his voice. "Duo..." Zechs murmured, smiling. "I like your name, too..." [Yes, it can be whispered into the ear like drops of sweet balm, and screamed in one gasp of passion in a release...] He shifted his sitting position, feeling the return of the tickling arousal. [Oh, my... and he says he's going to enjoy calling me Zechs... and he says my name sounds strong. Does he like a partner to be strong, take charge? I wonder...] Duo warmed at the sound of his name being spoken in that husky, sensual voice. [I think I could come just listening to him talk,] he thought and realized he was half hard. [Crap, I need him so bad... I have to meet him!] "I like knowing each other's name... and Zechs... it's so much easier than Platinum6. That was way too many syllables," he laughed. "So, how about us meeting? I'm game if you still are," he said flipping his braid around to his chest. "Yes..." Quickly, Zechs mentally catalogued place names from his last visit to Cairo. "There's a cafe on El Ruvil near the city's largest mosque. It's called the Green Nile Serpent Inn. I will be there around three P.M. tomorrow. Is that too soon for you? Few will be there then, as it is prayer time at the mosque. I will be staying in one of the inn's rooms above the cafe." He paused; the implication, of course, was that they would meet then disappear into Zechs's room where they would have... privacy. And could do far more than talk. Duo sat up. His normally large eyes got even larger at Zechs mention of having a room above the cafe. [Oh, he's as eager as I am! I was beginning to wonder with that smooth voice of his, doesn't sound like much ruffles his feathers.] "I don't know Cairo... so that sounds fine. And yeah, it shouldn't be a problem getting there by three o'clock tomorrow," he answered and then began to work out in his mind exactly how he would get to Cairo. [Quatre will help with that, I'm sure. I hope he won't want to come with me...] "Good," Zechs said, relieved. He'd been afraid that the mention of a private room would be a little too forward... but then he felt sure Duo wanted him as much as he wanted Duo. [Oh, when I get my hands on that braid... and to see his eyes for real... cup his face in my hands... pull that little body against mine...] He swallowed hard, feeling his erection swell. [Oh, I've got it bad already...] "Then we're settled. I will see you at the Green Nile Serpent Inn at three o'clock tomorrow, Duo. And... I very much look forward to that." His voice had dropped at this last, and his hand dropped to squeeze his rampant erection, his fantasies already at work. Duo cleared his throat... it had gone dry listening to the deep tones of his *hopefully* soon to be lover. "You'll see me then... I look forward to it as well." He was sounding a bit subdued; he was mesmerized by Zechs. Mesmerized by the fantasy that was quickly taking over his mind and his body... He snapped out of it long enough to give a cheerful close to their conversation, though he didn't want it to end. "Great! Until tomorrow, Zechs," he grinned and swatted his braid at the monitor. [Next time I swat anything with this, I hope it's his naked behind!]
